Awesome Pics Hari. Was kinda searching for you, but noticed that Gansan's car was missing - So assumed some of you guys would have left for the day.

I really like the long shots covering Anand's corner (?) and the entry shots to the main straights.
(With due respect to Octy and its driver)I think Manek's 800 taking on the Octy sums up the whole story of Track driving.

It doesn't matter what you drive, but how you drive does really matter.

I am still not out of the track day blues. Overall a very good learning experience for me. Now i understand my car better, i understand driving, as a skill better and i most importantly, understand the real meaning of 'Live to Drive' and 'Got BHP?' taglines

@Mi10: Glad the P&P session has had the desired effect on you.

Most of us [including me] understand our limitations as well as the car's limitation on track. We cannot push like that on the road and neither is it legal to do so.

One often gets a better understanding as well as learns to do better lap after lap.

BTW, can you please elaborate how and why you managed to do what you did last weekend with the mistress. The post could be made a "sticky" and an eye opener to all those wanting to do modifications.

Yes I did see maneak overtaking the Octavia and the photo was taken as they were entering the Start line and crossing the JK Tyre arch.

@Headers - Is this your India? I saw two indicas driving one was kind of silver and the other is this maroon.

Sure. That Octavia has about 220 NM of torque. So what really matters on the track is the power to weight ratio and not the torque? And driver's skill of course.

The silver looking Indica was actually a gold one driven by hrag.

you mean the dude who was jumping and sitting on the boot, and putting his leg on the Verna hood ?

No offence mate, didn't mean to hurt you, but most of the owners would'nt have liked it.

There are a lot of mod car threads on here which have been an eye opener.
I'll definitely document the mods soon. Sorry for the delay.

The owner and the guy are best friends.
Did you express this opinion to him in person?

Well, that particular baleno was too fast for 1/1000 shutter speeds to click. Next time, we'll arrange for a super fast camera, for sure.

I think i saw an OHC in one of the pics. Was it a VTEC, 1.5 or 1.3 and how did it fare? Didn't any of the other cars (Baleno, Verna, RS, OHC, Fiesta etc) use the transponder?

I had cursed the poor guy in front of his dad (i didnt know he was around) quite a few times during the day and had run out of anything else to say by then. Besides after all the bashing he gets from arka, by now hes pretty immune to what the rest of us say

@Shan2nu - by the time I could ask him for the transponder on my car he said they were just another lap or 2 away from red flagging us, so I decided not to waste time and just go out and enjoy the final part of the day.

Here is the video

What to see :

0:33 - Exiting pit and see Swift in front (Bangy Akshay's I think) , Fiesta going on its way.
1:06 - Swift pulls over
1:35 - Fiesta spotted
2:44 - Right on its tail, can't really "go" as I'm not warmed up.
3:06 - Start finish straight, "go baby go" Overtook Fiesta
5:06 - Green Esteem, Done...!
5:11 - Octy spotted
6:16 - Oct really close and that was the moment to pass. Instead I had to go off the gas and pull off the line. See the "mad race esteem" going.
7:11 - In no mood for madness, take it easy
7:21 - Fiesta "lapped" (or is it another Fiesta ?)
7:36 - Santro a little too close for comfort, moving "off" the line and basically took the corner wider
7:41 - I know the chap is watching his mirrors and I got a good run out of the corner and I'm on the gas much earlier than him.
7:48 - Pursuit mode "catch octy"
8:06 - over cooks the corner looses the tail a bit but manages to keep the show on the road.
8:27 - Got back sanity and call it quits and off the gas and decides to go into the pits.

Summing it up. In the video I'm around 2:34
End of the day 2:31.852 on a 95k 9Yr old Carb Zen (765Kg 50bhp so you do the math) I'm one happy man.

First I thought of asking, why the "L". Then the way you drove to the track. I knew it was not for you.

Or is it ?
