Eddie Jordan would be walking around with his collar up now. He is the one who came out and confidently said this move will happen. IMO this is kind of a stupid move in terms of pure racing but from the trophy row to Ron saying 'I am paying him' the Mclaren team sure did not show him much love over the past few months. Sometimes its just about the state of mind you find yourself in.

Guess the whole of formula-1 Net is filled with this news. All the best Sergio he was very exciting to watch this year to be honest. Hopefully McLaren will be able to put its head down and concentrate on making cars best instead of attending press conferences to explain what Lewis did was purely out of context or by mistake or without intending to do it.

I think Lewis just blew up 2013 with this move. In the long run this may work wonders (what with a mentor like Ross Brawn), but next season is going to be an uphill task. I will be surprised if its otherwise.

2014 is too far away. But the events at Mclaren next year can be like this - Jenson moves up to Driver #1 at McLaren in 2013-> Perez spends part of the season to getting used to the McLaren way -> By mid 2013 Perez is neck to neck with Button - translated to serious entertainment and racing for us fans.

On the other hand, I am extremely happy for Perez. That boy is determined and can DRIVE!! I really wish that his talent is completely bored out at McLaren.

Half season NO, I expect Perez to be running the McL way after the first two races or so; if McL can retain the pace next year that is.

Kimi seems to be happy and content with Lotus till 2013.

He has a walk away clause in his contract for both 2013 and 2014. Don't think he'd switch next year, but if Lotus don't get their strategies sorted out, am certain the Iceman would switch. The entire grid is shocked by his smooth re-fitment, and the big 2 - McL & RBR (excluding Ferr) will be needing replacements in '14.

Obviously it's way too early to ponder on this, but it is enticing.

Only time will tell if Lewis\Mercedes made the right decision for themselves.On one side we have a team which has been putting rivals to shame by going backwards from the season beginning to end and on other end we have a driver who has such a big ego and not known to be a complete team player.So interesting times ahead.

Now,where does all this leave Nico at?If Lewis has been signed in as the driver Mercedes believes to be the missing cog,then he is auto relegated to No2.Now that promises us with even more interesting times as he doesnt like to be pushed around like that either.

I feel this move will work well for Lewis. He can really flourish under the guidance of Brawn, and a little bit of freedom (from the stern Ron) may help him to enjoy the sport better.

And another positive - next year Perez surely will be in the mix for WDC.

Lewis to Mercedes and Perez to McLaren, implies that out of the top teams, at the most Ferrari (if they decide to drop Massa) will have a vacancy left.
Am not quite sure that Perez's driving style will suit McLaren.
