vid, I spoke with both trident and advaith service stations saying that its my own car. and also with trident showroom. only advaith showroom is left. i ll talk to them today or tomorrow. meanwhile a friend of mine has shown willingness to 'instruct' (arm twist is a rather strong word) the RTO to provide me details of the car on monday morning. so hopefully since it was indeed registered at RTO koramangala, where i stay too apparently, it wont be difficult to track the car down.

Oh man, that looks painful!

@gemi - She must've banged hard enough to have the car roll forward and hit another car/wall.

You should definitely trace the car down and have them pay every single paisa.

Srik,
It is simple to find out the name and address of the registered owner from RTO.
Just send an SMS to 56006 as RTO KA-xx-xx-nnnn and you will get a reply with the details.

I tried with my car and bike numbers, and it works. Hopefully it should work, unless something changed recently

EDIT- Just tried with my car number, it sends name, engine number, chassis number, make and colour.
No address details. Once you get the name, possibly you can try to figure out more.

Good luck on that part.
Such an irresponsible idiot, that he didnt wait to tell sorry at the least. They should be taught a lesson.

And why don't you publicize the number here? some one may be able to help you out locating it.

@Siturl, the number is KA-01-ME-5590 (this is what was given by people around) its a blue hyundai i10. I am not even sure its right, since the SMS-es dont return valid information. perhaps since it might be a new car, it wont be in the database yet.

@jaggu - this is the car park next to standard chartered bank, one road before hosur road as you go from jyoti nivas college forward and take last right. its the bbmp car park with all high tension towers around.

siturl - i checked my own car number, it gives some wrong information, i tend to believe the info from rto may not be entirely right.

Ouch, that was a bad bad one GeekSrik.
You would definitely catch up with the i10 owner, take them to task but please dont loose your cool dealing with them.

I shall keep my eyes open for this number, and would let You know if I get to see them before You do.

I am sure you might have tried this option, but just to rule out that, you might also need to check with the person collecting money there at the parking if he has slips where he notes the vehicle number, in case that person might have returned that slip back to him or if he has a counter foil. Normally they donot have counter foils, but just to give it a shot.

From when did this parking become free? It used to be a paid parking. It has two openings one towards the one way going to HDFC Bank, and other towards the Stand Chart bank. I parked there a few times.
