Meanwhile got the second servicing job completed on 21st and took delivery of the SUV that evening. As informed the Scorpio went to the A.S.S. on 19th and was the third vehicle to arrive at the dealer's outlet at around 0935 hrs.A service camp was on w.e.f. 18th till 23rd January at the A.S.S. so there were enough Xylos, Scorpios, Boleros, Logans and other Mahindra UV's all waiting in line.
I would have got delivery the same day but as paint jobs were to be done on the bumper, grille, door handles and so on that would take time.20th was Vidarbha bandh so I took no chances. Most workers did not report for duty and so neither was the job completed. The Service Manager informed me accordingly when called.
On 21st at 2.00 pm I got a call from the service department telling me that Scorpio is ready for delivery.I reached the A.S.S. and later found the SUV still waiting patiently for the paint job to be completed. As you may remember, there was a dent on the rear right side which was levelled off very well at a local workshop. The paint job over the dented surface needed to be done so the quarter rear right bumper was disassembled. The fog lamps were not fitted either. This was at 3.00 pm when I reached the workshop. The Service Manager when informed got into the action mode and told the fellows to do it all as fast as possible. At 6.00 pm I saw the SUV inside the dust free paint booth being given finishing touches and then being left for drying. Waiting patiently till 7.45 pm I was told at the lounge (which has a VCD/DVD player to keep visitors entertained) that the Scorpio is ready for delivery. All Managers, engineers and workers were very courteous and well behaved. As I had told earlier during my first free service, owners have to wait with drivers at this lounge which is crowded during such service camps.
I took delivery of the Brute SUV and drove my way home - a distance of 14 kms.Was wary of being caught in the traffic on the wrong foot as the localities and the National Highway no. 7 traversed are usually crowded and unruly during rush hours. The glitter and shine on the Scorpio were too vulnerable if scratched or dented even by a hand cart or a biker.I came back unscathed.TOUCHWOOD!
The bill came to around Rs 11000=00.Will post further details with pictures soon. This included changing the gear oil but all the other jobs were mainly related to the paint booth:
Retouching the levelled dented surface with Mystic Silver paint shade Rs 1400=00 (earlier I had spent Rs 650=00 for the denting at a local workshop).
The rest Rs 8700 odd were for painting the bumpers, grille, door handles, rear number plate light, foot board covers in body colour.Disassembling and refitting these for the paint job too costs an awful lot of money.Nonetheless I availed a discount of some Rs 700

as the service camp was on!
The fog lamps have been fitted but could not be activated as the wiring job was not done due to non availability of the right stalk viz,. headlight/light/fog lamp switch.
A new problem that has come up lately is that the rear right door's power window is not working. Intend to get it done up during the next visit.
Overall I was happy with the service provided and courtesy shown by M/s Unnati Motors but for the avoidable waiting time of nearly four hours involved.
