Raj even some so called luxury buses have two sets (2+2=4) of such tail lights fitted to the rear.

Congrats Anjan and everyone else on the purchase, might take me a couple of years of saving to be able to buy the beast but still its worth reading the bible before getting baptized.

Btw is the Scorpio Special edition any good or would it be better to go with the regular one rather than pay the extra premium.

Also I saw this TATA press van with old Scorpio tail lamps, pics posted
Thanks indianchiefrsd, wish you all the best in your efforts to buy a Scorpio.I do not think that those special editions are any good. They look dated after a few years.Remember the Ford Escort Orion Spl edition that had some badging and so on.Now its whoa the Escort??And those Maruti 800 special editions of 2003 with the garish stickers on the front fenders!
Go for the normal version -thats my personal view.

Its rainy and moist weather in this part of the country viz. Central India. So when it does not rain I roll down the window glass and drive the SUV with the AC switched off. The engine is much more peppy without the AC on and the growl is heard with the glass rolled down. The best part of moist weather is that there's no dust to enter inside. The dust phobia prompts me to go around with the AC on always.

Another Scorpio quiz: Q: Why dogs don't urinate on Scorpios but prefer to do so on other cars ?

Possible reason 1: Their sun sign is scorpio!

Possible reason 2: Men are dogs & Men love SUVs!

Possible reason 3: They are afraid of the mighty muscular.

Possibly because, the height of the tyre makes it tough for them to make that angle, and they prefer lower rung sedans.

The question was very subjective and can have umpteen answers. All your answers Raj and Amit may be right hence. Or if I say they are wrong I may be under fire.
But my answer will be somewhat akin to Amit's thinking . Its due to the fact that the ground clearance of the beast is quite high, which deters the canines.Usually the dogs like to spill it all over the tyre and a little bit over the body of the car. But here the wheel can be accessed at any height for the dog but the body is high above. So only Great Danes and maybe Dalmatians will like to JUST DO IT on Scorpios.

Correction they don't do on your Scorpio because they might not have done till now.

Dogs use urine to mark their territory and periodically return to renew the markers so that other dog does not claim the territory.

So once a dog pee on the Tyre it will return again and again to mark it.

well thats an insight. Territory means car or the area surrounding it ? You dont want dogs to claim cars, or else there may be a fight for Audis etc.

Its long since I ever reviewed my SUV after the second service (FREE).Would like to add some more information here about the way its going around with me.
The driveability has vastly improved after the two services and now even @ a little above 40kmph with the overdrive engaged, goosebumps in the engine and gearbox are a thing of the past. The turbo lag between 1500 -2000 rpm is long gone. The engine is quite smooth I feel, after the mating of the pistons and inner liner of the cylinders.M&M, A.S.S.'s use only Mahindra brand engine oils and gear oils in sealed plastic cans, tailor-made for the Scorpio engine and gearbox (quantity wise). They had changed the gear oil for the first time during the 2nd service. With the colder weather prevailing, the AC's work is limited to ventilating the interior when plugged and it has been quite effective in its job.The gear engagement has not improved even a wee bit and thats in the genes, which fellow users too tell about! In most new cars I have driven around, the gears loosen up and become friendly after a few thousand kms of running, but NOT SO for the Scorpios. The engine rattle in neutral gear stays and even after the engine gets heated due to running this rattle continues.
The fat A pillar and the bulbous ORVM especially to your right are sure view obstructer's and get a thumbs down. This is a design flaw and M&M needs to take serious notice. Its OK for the muscular looks but what about an avoidable hit due to the obstruction?
The horn button like gearbox is unrelenting even after so much use and remains stiff. The horn should be of a feather touch kind as during emergencies you cannot be expected to use your palm muscles to PRREESS the stubborn horn button. These are a part of the Scorpio DNA and I am not the only one!
Another last glitch. The fog lights were fitted on 21.01.10 and I was told about the OE switch being made available by the A.S.S. Till today the fog lights are only ornamentally just there and non-functional. I had a talk with the dealer the other day but learnt that they are yet to receive the OE headlight/lights and fog combo switch.
But I relish my drives cocooned from the world and in a safe fortress on the move. Its a very good BRUTE SUV after all.

I agree with your views on the horn. I find a pain too. You have to use lot of force to blow the horn. I thought it maybe related to the airbag in my steering wheel but it looks like a design flaw with all vehicles.

with Airbag, it works with not so gentle press but still acceptable when you press on the upper outer side both left or right, if you press on the center it doesn't work unless you have pressed it too hard with which again the corner on the upper side got pressed!

Territory means general area usually pet dogs bark and chase away anyone in front of the owners house becuase they see the street in front of house to be their territory. The boundaries of the territory are marked by dogs and feline animals by spraying body scent on prominent structures that is trees , boulders etc in wild and in urban settings it is poles , wall and vehicle tires.

The size of brain lobes controlling the sense of smell is more then 100 times larger in dogs then humans. They can smell the unique signature of their body order even after you wash the tires. So after each washing they will pee again to renew the scent.
