Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

It'd have been great if the same stuff was available in a clear gloss version. It'd help those folks who don't wish to change the look/finish of their wheels (including but not limited to) but are looking for an effective, reversible solution to protect it from dust, grime, tar specks and road debris at the same time.

BTW, anyone's who has used this product - how does it hold up against pressure washes and/or cleaning with a moderately rough cloth?

Their Work Is Pretty Neat.
DADesign does not use Plastidip for the cars. They are vinyl wrapped with 3M vinyls.

I have used plastidip to rubberise the top part of my Safari Storme bumper at the rear. The details are in the thread below:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offici...eview-159.html

It's been fine so far, it's rough to the touch and Ive been cleaning the car daily and there is no issue of the Plastidip peeling off so far.

Anyone used this product on aluminium? I am thinking of painting the side steps black with this.

Well, for all that its worth , USD 25 a can is the going price at Al ie ExprEss
, and they have like almost 15 shades. It is the same product , obviously in a rebranded can. But the thing with raw products like paint etc is that there is not much for the cloning company to go wrong with. No designing , engineering or tweaking, if you know what I mean.

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

Are color-less ones available? How expensive is this? Is it possible to get an under-body-coating with this product

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

i have been using plasti dip for a while now and i didnt have any chipping or unintended peeling issues till date. that said i am in the US and the coating may need to take a little bit more abuse in India.

Dipping has gone up to a different level here and the "dipyourcar" channel has a lot of videos on the different possibilities. i see folks have already posted videos from the channel.

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

I plasti-dipped the back of my cellphone cover and it peeled off in a week. I had put in 4 coats for a good finish but it didn't help. I guess if the surface is in contact with objects rubbing against it constantly, it won't last.

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

Will it be able to withstand a pressure wash?
Some of the Karcher and Bosh pressure washer used have got quite a bit of force.

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

if u apply it well, not leaving any edges for water or wind jets to seep in and not start a peeling action then its gonna last a long time. but that said the product is supposed to peel.. so if u scratch with something sharp it will peal. so will any decal or a vinyl coating.

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

I searched for Plasti Dip in EBay and the likes, didn't find it.

However, I found some other brand selling on eBay at dirt cheap prices (~350 per can)
How good are these products ?

My target is to paint the Beat's rims in black colour, and the callipers in green.

They seem to be spray paints. Plasti Dip is a Coating which can be removed anytime and so is fully reversible.

Is there anywhere we can get this online? I can't seem to find it on ebay.in. I'm from Goa and not quite sure if anyone sells it here.
