Well, it so happened I had supplied 3 liters of Mobil Delvac 1(5W40) for the regular service. But as they felt it was short, they have added 100 odd ml of 10W40(SHU).

Would this harm the engine? Please advise!

Should be fine.

Btw, what's the quantity of oil mentioned for your car ? Did you check the oil level - hope it is not too much above the max mark.

For Swift DDiS it is 3.1L oil capacity.

100 ml won't make any issue since majority is the right grade anyway (i.e. 3000 ml)

Nothing to worry, but do remember to get the 3.5L pack of MGDO (Mobil Super 5W40) from any MGP store.

Spare oil you can keep for top up.

Service was OK. Cartisan guys supervised the service. It is right about the mark, as they had topped it off with the Shell(10W40).

I had gone for Mobil Delvac 1 and it is available in one liter containers. So, had bought 3 of them and the workshop guy felt it was short.

Is Mobil Super, a fully synthetic oil? 3.5L would be the right quantity as the spare allows us to top it off as and when required.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

3M has started marketing their wiper blades here.
Last time I went for interior cleaning at 3M CAR CARE Indiranagar I saw those wipers.
I told them to send me their range with size mentioned clearly to paste that here.

I got it today. Pricing ranges from 700/- to 1550/-.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

During my visit to 3M Coimbatore last week, I had got the wiper blades changed in my Scross. Although 26"-14" is the stock size, I put 24"-16" size which suits the crossover very well and was immensely useful during the last few days when it rained in Bangalore. More details along with the pictures can be found in Scross official review and my ownership thread.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Time and again it has been proven Team-Bhp is the best
forum ever.
I was wanting to buy a new pair of wiper blades for my Ford Ecosport car. Zeroed in on Hella Curvo & Bosch Clear Advantage, but it was so difficult to source them. Tried online, offline and all the respective company website and their listed dealers but no luck. Then I did a google search for "hella wipers jaipur" and followed this 7 year old post and voila I got the right dealer and that too for the right price. You know the saying the world is small. I was the one who had requested details of dealers in Jaipur at that time and 7 years later found the same post helping me again.
By the way, Jaipur Diesels number does not exist anymore but Mr. Panjwani's sure does and he readily checked his stock and got the wipers.

Thanks a lot !

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Hello everyone,

So since the monsoons are due anytime now, I got the wiper blades of my Jetta changed today and thought I would share details of the same for the benefit of other Jetta users. Part numbers are as follows:

24" 5C8955425A for 1356 (including all taxes)
19" 5C8955426A for 1341 (including all taxes)

Since I paid 2700 for the set I was happy to see that the OEM wipers were not that expensive as perceived especially since the previous set lasted me for a good 02 years.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

The wiper blade on the rear of the Ertiga was acting up from day one. Upward swipe was smooth and noiseless.

Downward swipe was noisy and the blade used to jump around creating a lot of noise scaring the passengers even in the front seat not to say about the unsuspecting ones sitting in the last row

Had made a search for a replacement blade but was not available.

Today I took out the blade and flipped it over. Tried operating the wiper.

Voila smooth and silent operation on both the upward and downward swipe and cleans well too

Ertiga rear wipers can cost between 1300 for the earlier variants (full arm only) to 280 odd for some new one where you get the rubber and supporting piece only. Do check which is yours, as mine is the more expensive one. I'll be trying the reverse trick out today, will post back with results.

Mine is the facelifted one. So must be the newer version.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

I have the new Baleno which I bought in 2015. Last Mumbai monsoons were very heavy and the blades were a nightmare. The rubber seemed to be dry. Although there was no sound or vibration when it worked, it didn't clean and night driving was pretty difficult if it rained heavily.
So before the arrival of this monsoons, got them replaced with Bosch Eco. So I went to one from the multitude of shops at GTB Nagar Sion. Amazon showed a price of 240/- + delivery extra. I bargained at the shop and he brought it down from earlier quoted 350/- to 300/- but took 30/- for fitting. I also had to get the windshield washer nozzle adjusted as one was misaligned. What I observed was that the Bosch has more pressure points than the stock ones and one of those hinges was obstructing the path of water jet from the nozzle so had to get the nozzle adjusted further which otherwise would have been fine for stock blades.

I've been using the 3M Wipers for a few days and they've been great so far, leaves the shield nice and clean. Got them for 570 (He quoted 600 and all I said was "Syndicate ka kitna tha"
He went ahead and installed these and said 570 which I paid him happily (FNG)
He also had the frameless one he quoted 1500 for, to which I declined cause well, I don't think my car needs it.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

For anyone looking for Bosch Eco Wiper Blades in Pune, they are available at Vohra Auto at Pune Satara Road, besides Chowgule Maruti Showroom. They are are Distributor, so prices might be discounted.

I purchased them in 22" and 16" for my Ritz. Cost me 350/-.
