Generally all the Ceramic sprays are cross compatible however if you want to be sure better check with your detailer and he can guide you the bets product which is most compatible with your coating.
The thumb rule is whatever brand the coating is use the ceramic spray coating from the same brand.
The ceramic sprays from most reputed brands can be used on any ceramic coatings from other brands as well.

Using a ceramic spray will not restore gloss, might be a 10% improvement at best which will last upto the next wash as it’s fillers are removed.

Loss of gloss on any paint surface (coated or not) is due to scratching and marring inflicted by improper cleaning. No coating will hold up to this abrasion, to fix you need to remove the swirling by polishing the paint, this will strip the coating and whatever protection is on it so a reapplication is needed.

Going forward you can wash safely (waterless wash is not a safe menthod to clean) to avoid repeating this process at least for a few years (look into contactless washing/multi mitt method).

Safe washing will also ensure your coating retains its water repellency without the need for any toppers/spray sealants. If you don’t care about gloss but want some temporary water repellency, you can apply a silica spray sealant like Carpro Reload, Gyeon Cancoat, SystemX Renew, etc.

Spray sealants will not harm the coating, just ensure they are silica based with no wax in them. Wash the car - 25% IPA wipe - apply and buff. Follow the mfg. instructions for ideal flash time (time between applying and buffing). Cheers.

Re: The Ceramic Coating Thread

So how does Ceramic coating hold up on a 13 year old offroader? Quite well, by the looks of it. While it is too early for me to comment on the long term durability of the coating, in the interim the water beading capabilities are truly mind blowing.

The Ceramic Coating Thread-beading3.jpg

Needless to say, preparation is key, and i did a proper wash followed by claybar treatment and then 2 layers of ceramic coating with 24 hours of cure time in between as advised by Hybrid Solutions.

The results as seen during the first set of rains, with the car parked outside.

Re: The Ceramic Coating Thread

Hi All,

I got ceramic coating done for my new Innova Hycross from Esperto, Bilekahalli and I am happy with the results. Since the car is new, I cannot make out lot of difference right now. I will keep the this thread updated over the next few years.

I took the following package from Esperto :
Platinum package-Drexler Nano Graphene 10h coating

• Full Body Wash
• Water Deposits Clean up From Logos & Body
• Deep Cleaning of Wheels
• Tar Removal from Body and Wheels
• Engine Bay Degrease and clean up
• Iron Decontamination wash for body and wheels
• Drying using premium microfiber & blow drying
• Extensive claying body and glass
• Paint polishing for swirl removal
• Premium paint finishing polish- Prep for ceramic coating
• Deep clean plastics ( exterior)
• Interior full vacuum
• Floor mats cleaned
• Deep clean interior plastics
• Deep clean seats- leather or fabric
• Premium protection for leather
•3 stage ceramic coating applied on the paint(9 layers)(Drexler base coat)
• 3 layer of Top up coat(Drexler Top up coat)
• 2 Layer Premium coating for exterior plastics
• 2 layer of wheel coat
• Premium UV protection for interiors dashboard
• Engine bay dressed with premium dressing
• Tyres dressing applied
• Chrome polished
• Front glass polished
• 1 layer of front glass coating
• Tail lights restored and coated
• Headlights polished and coated
• Wheels polished and protection applied

Warranty-5 years, 3 top ups - once every 18 months. Many of these (deep cleaning, tar removal) might not be applicable for the new car.

Esperto also added PPF for door handles, ORVMS and door edges. It took 2 days and they kept me updated on the status with videos of the work being done.

Following are some snaps of the car after the work was done:

Re: The Ceramic Coating Thread

Hi Folks,
I have bought a new MG Hector in Feb23. I was told that the original paint of the SUV is weak (water based paint) hence Ceramic coating is necessary. Is it true?
I have safe parking for my car in my housing society as well as in my office complex in Mumbai. Everyday car washer washes the car. But bird droppings are a problem.

I've received the flg quotes:
DIAMOND COAT (Imported Japanese Brand)
2 Years warranty ₹20,650
3 Years warranty ₹24,800
5 Years warranty ₹29,500

GYEON QUARTZ (Imported South Korean Brand)
3 Years warranty ₹34,810
5 Years warranty ₹43,070

MENZA PRO GRAPHENE COATING
COATING (MADE IN JAPAN)
2 Years Warranty ₹27,750
3 Years Warranty ₹30,680
5 Years Warranty ₹35,400
.
18% GST is Applicable.
Ofcourse, some negotiation will happen but with varied views on the coatings for cars, I'm unable to decide. Please advice.

Out of the lot I would say got for Gyeon as it specialises in Ceramic coatings. You can also enquire about IGL Coatings and i am sure they have a studio in Mumbai. Mine is coated with IGL Kenzo and its been more than 1.5 years and its holding well. Here is my review just in case

Diamond coat and Gyeon are reliable brands. Out of thw two I would suggest Diamond coat as the importer is a known person in the industry with a good track record and the product is good as I have used the same.

You may also reach out to Sumant Vikas of OCD Detail Studio in Jogeshwari on 9820094089 he’s an enthusiast and will suggest you a suitable package.

Please advice.
No it’s not, water based paints are not ‘weaker’ than solvent based ones, they are as durable and can benefit as much as a solvent based paint system from ceramic protection.

They are however softer than solvent based paints, this means they are easier to swirl and micro scratch during washing. Do not let the daily cleaner anywhere near your coated car, no coating can hold up to that kind of extreme abrasion.

You can ruin a perfect finish in under 2 days otherwise, even on the ultimate 10 year coating (the coating will remain but it will get scratched and lose water beading and gloss.)
Look into safe contactless rinsing and washing methods.

Out of the 3 go with Gyeon eyes closed.

Diamond I’ve never heard of in the industry and going by the sad state of the website with multiple typos and dysfunctional links and terms like iron powder, I think rightly so.

Menza is a much cheaper brand that is nowhere near Gyeon in terms of quality and performance. Think City VS S class.

If you want comparable brands to Gyeon, look for authorised installers of Carpro, SystemX, Kamikaze, Modesta, etc.

Coming to Gyeon, just saying quartz is not enough, which coating is being used exactly? There are about 6-7 pro coatings they offer from infinite base type 1/2, Mohs Evo, Pure Evo, and more. Check this link:

https://gyeon.co/products-list/?type...=6#anchor-text

I’ve not tested all of them but IB type 1 and Mohs Evo are stellar products that will last many years with safe washing.

If Carpro is Benz, Reload (spray coating) is similar to an A class, CQuartz UK 3 would be closer to a C class (lasts longer, more concentrated), CQuartz Pro somewhere between and E and S class, CQuartz Finest Reserve would be an S500, and finally DQuartz would be closer to a Maybach S680.

It’s obviously an approximation on my part but given the price/durability this would roughly match up.

Based on my experience of coating and maintaing cars for years with Cquartz UK 3.0 and Menza Pro Glower+ (A few hundred vehicles). I would say they are very similar in performance and durability. Cquartz professional however gives a depth on black vehicles that these two can't match.

Entirely possible, UK is a retail level coating aimed at non pro users, if the menza pro variant is similar, it shows the difference in quality as we’re comparing different levels of concentration (pro variants tend to be more concentrated).

CQuartz pro and above are only sold to accredited installers, and they are not allowed to use any other brand of ceramic coating.

I’m curious, are you an accredited installer for Carpro? If yes, avoid using other brands as they take it quite seriously (one of the reasons I went with SystemX over them).

I used to be. Later I shifted to other brands for reasons similar to what you mentioned.
