I have upgraded the Headlamp units with Better LED projectors on my Hector Plus (2021). Is yours the Plus version or normal one (both have different projectors). Both are possible to upgrade only by opening the headlight units and replacing the internal projectors. In my case they are round 3 inch projectors which I replaced with Osram CBI pro projectors which cost 17500 and I paid 7500 for the installation. The system works beautifully and the light output and beam focus are perfect. There are no visible changes from outside and no cop can tell the difference. Also the car has been serviced twice after that and the service centre has also not objected to any changes. I am very happy with the change.
If yours is the Hector version that comes with 2 inch projectors which are available with AES or Genome , but the installation may be different and may require a bracket too. Please check with the best installers in your city.

Thank YOU for the quick response!

Mine is the normal version. I'm guessing your setup included 4 projectors for that price? Why was the installation cost so high or is that normal?

And, could you please share a few pictures?

Nope The Hector plus (2021) version came with 1 projector per headlight and the cost is for one pair of Headlight projectors.
Typically headlight inbuilt projectors are more expensive than fog light projectors.
For 4 projectors on the Hector version you can go for AES projectors which are available around 9k per pair so 18k for the full set + installation cost (varies drastically) but should be in the range of 10-16k.

Awesome thanks! This has been very helpful. Did you explore upgrading the fog lights instead by any chance?

Hi all,

Any suggestions for over the roof lighting for KIA Sonet?

Too many people using high beams in our area, this is only for that purpose.

It's illegal to use any light above the level of OEM headlights.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

I had recently installed F75 by DHC on my Skoda Rapid(2017) at Car Bae Detailing studio, Thoraipakkam, OMR, Chennai without any retrofit. Was happy with it until the low beam light started failing. In less than three months, the car has been to the Car Bae Detailing studio three times already with no solution. and recently by DRL too has fone bust, did I make a mistake by switching to this bulb. Am I missing anything? any pointers? Ps guide

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Hi all,

I have a query regarding upgrading the fog lamps in my i20 Nline. I believe they are 2" projector halogen units (?). The spec is HB4/51W.

What would be a good plug & play replacement option? I don't think I want to replace the whole unit with a fancy, extremely bright unit like those from Aozoom (I might, but that's not my first choice).

Can I replace the stock bulb with a HB4 LED? What would be a good brand model in this spec? Recommendations please.

The issue is most likely caused by a loose or corroded wire or connector. It’s advisable to have the wiring thoroughly inspected. Water ingress into the connector can also contribute to the problem.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Hi,

I own a Ford EcoSport Titanium+ and as per the Owner's Manual it comes with H18 halogen projector setup (Mid Series) for low beam headlamp. I'm looking to upgrade to HID for better visibility but want to avoid LEDs primarily because LEDs are not street legal.

Name: Headlamps.png
Views: 18
Size: 38.1 KB

Owner's manual mentions that that High Series, Titanium S, comes with D5S HID projector setup and some members here mentioned that the visibility is good. Is it possible to have the D5S HID setup in Titanium+ as well? If not, what are the other HID options that would work with H18 halogen projector setup without too many modifications?

Would really appreciate inputs from those who have done similar upgrades on the EcoSport or any leads on trusted installers in Pune.

Thanks in advance!
