Go in for 100 watt single filament bulb with a relay setup. You will not be dissapointed. Without the relay, stick to the stock 55watt or upgrade to 60watt

But wont a 100 watt bulb melt the holder and reflector?

Not disagreeing, but even I was considering this; and I was told that the holder would melt and that HIDs would be a better and safer bet!

Ok, found H8 ceramic bulb holders. Would these make a difference?

They will not melt even with high wattage. So if you have higher wattage bulbs, it makes sense. In my indica, the stock holder on left side was partially melted, later I changed to bakelite holders(or ceramic as they are popularly known) from Roots

What about the reflector - is there any chance of it "melting" or will it just dullen over time? AFAIK, H8s are 35w; and I suddenly upgrade to H8 100w thats a huge difference.

As for reflectors, it varies from car to car. For example my friend's indigo had slight reflector damage in one corner(nothing much, did not affect the beam spread) with 100/90W, while my indica has had no problems with 130/110 in the left reflector

Cool, thanks alot!
I'm talking about the Sx4 fog lights. They're pretty small though, dont know if its worth the risk. Contemplating HIDs or a pair of 68 LED bulbs, cant seem to decide...

100/90 is a safe bet. Anything more, like say 110/130 might be an issue.

Hey
I already have 50w 4300k HIDs in the headlights, am talking about my fog lights here. Have to get matching white lights, so thought of getting higher wattage since I was halfway into the process.

Xenons/HIDs for Octavia

Folks,

My dad, who lives in Madras, wants to install Xenons/HIDs on his Octy. The car currently has some water seepage in the headlights, and he needs to change them anyway. Its a Rider model.

Can anyone direct me to HID/Xenon suppliers in Madras? Also, is the mod advisable in the first place?

Thank you!
