Its going to be a CBU
and I remember clearly
it pumps out around 32 horses
with a 0-100 figure a shade under 6 seconds and topwhack of around 110MPH(~170Km/hr).
Not bad if they price it around 2-2.5L.

A ray of hope at the end of tunnel, this will be sold through Bajaj again or will they take the alternative route like Suzuki and be independent ?

I'm waiting for this one to hit the roads... have to upgrade after couple of years. It will be a used bigger capacity mobike or this one. Anyways here are some articles:

http://www.mcnews.com/mcn/features/200806ninja.pdf
Kawasaki Ninja 250 Review | Best Beginner Motorcycles
2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R First Ride - Motorcycle USA

It produces 36BHP@11000RPM at the crank; and on the dyno it's 26BHP at the rear wheels.

Wow, that seems like a good 30% bump over the the one I started one. I had a 2005 that made 26 BHP at the crank. They must have really cracked that motor if they wrung 36 out of it. Still redlines at the same 13,000 so they must have done something else entirely to make more power.

One of the sweetest bikes every made. I would buy it in a heart beat if they released it in India.

expected price is 2.2l will be available via the Bajaj Probiking stores, expected to come around may-jun! was waiting for it until i ran out of patience and bought myself a comet quite happy with it as of now!
Plus the exclusivity factor of a comet shall prevail, i enjoy the attention i get
I'm sure this would be a head turner too but not for long as it would become more and more common on the roads.
But happy to see the change coming!

The bike is mostly coming in CKD avataar and not cbu.Pricing according to sources should not exceed 2.5 lacs. And for that kind of money it is a an excellent buy compared the 1.80 lacs people shelled out for that shitty Comet.Im sorry but thats what the Comet was.The price is at such a level that neither will it be too common and neither is it too out of reach which is a good thing. Going by the reviews it seems to be a classy product and just the perfect upgrade for us zma/220 people.

Shitty comet? Excuse me? But thats the biggest baloney I have ever heard
The comet 250 is a wonderful bike. Ask any comet owner on t-bhp and they will say that same. A well maintained comet and a good rider can easily hit 180kmh!

being a comet owner now, well comet hitting 180 seems like a tall order not the indian one for sure!! have seen videos of guys touching 170 on the SPEEDO on the 2008 gt250r !
All said and done i don't think the bike can be called shitty at all! its zippy, handles well, i think its a good way to get into the bigger bike segment. I love it and thats why i bought it! and moreover its unfair to compare the two totally different bikes i mean just because they have the same engine capacity and price would be in a similar range doesn't make them similar in any way!

Now coming back to the topic: it should be an excelent change for the maturing indian market and i'm sure bajaj would not make the same mistakes as kinetic to make this bike a success and open the doors for better machines to come in! i feel 2-2.5l is fair enough pricing for the bike!

180 km/h ..now thats the biggest baloney i have heard . Like i said no offence meant for comet owners. dont want to elaborate on the plus and minuses of the bike on this thread.

just like speedomania says the two bikes just cannot be compared.Infact there is a review on youtube between the ninja and the new 2008 Comet 250r.Worth a watch

Not many people talk about the prices on the road in the US. For bikes with lots of demand such as the Ninja, its hard to get a new one for less then $4500. As they charge shipping, labor, taxes separately. I am sure a CBU with taxes etc is going to push prices high.

What would be awesome is for Bajaj to get the technology any build a Bajaj Kwakker Ninja for 1.5L to 2L.
