Curiously though, any idea whats the market price of a well maintained CI 500 in Chennai or Hyd? I imagine it shouldnt vary too much between these two cities

Prices always seems to hover around 80 to 90K and even above if it has got the K&Ns, alloys, etc. Even now you can see a couple of these 500s in this price range! IMO its too much to pay for a used bike. If I remember correctly, the brand new one used to cost approximately around 90K 2-3 yrs back!

Tbhp member shantanu from dehradun has had a ride on the bullet clasic when it came here for some RTO paperwork.he had a long test ride as the showroom owner was known to him and he claims that the acceleration is super good.even better than the pulsar 220.so we can expect that this will be one hell of a bike in terms of being fast.

Just now visited the Southern motors in Annanagar West, chennai. The salesperson was not even ready to accept that the bikes are being released on Nov 4. After convincing him that the news is out, he told that a classic 500 and 350 are the only models to be released, confirming Daiuspitar's post.

Also he informed me that Machismo 350 is also going to be stopped. Classic will take over Machismo's position.

I was at Royal Enigneers, dealers in Hyderabad today. When I enquired they gave me the broucher for the CLassic EFI 500. I wanted to pay booking amount but they told they should have a few bikes by next week for display. He will contact me immediately when they receive one. He is also informed that the onrad price might be around Rs.1,35,000/- .

Expected fuel economy is also 30+, I was quite surprised when I heard that but that is to be checked. Anyway reports on the net mention 65-70 miles per gallon.

The pics with the single saddle are amazing. My idea is to buy the single saddle first and later on add full saddle to it. By the way everyone at my house is impressed with its looks. My sis got the copy of the borucher by mistake

Brilliant photography I should say. The step look is awesome

I am picking this one for sure. I am trying to convince my friend who is planning a Pulsar 220 to have a look at the bike.

If you have any brochure from RE dealer, please make it scan and post. I doubt for a single seated model.

I guess it is the single seat model price only. Full seat you need to add another thousand or so

Why guess? Are pics at brochure and on classic websites are same (Single seat)?

Actually I want to say that RE is already exporting this model (single seat) to Britain. Are you sure the brochure you got is for Indian models?

yup its true !! Pics were not allowed, but the ride was awesome, The acceleration was insanely quick !

BTW i am Shantanu

Even a very good friend of mine who rode the classic 500 before me was amazed by the pick up. He did complain about a weird sound he heard when he passed over 60.

Thanks.

Is it a single seat? Is the seat height less compared to Machismo/ Electra?

What about the gear lever and brake lever position?

I hope it's in classic style too.
