Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

Here are the prices. I think they have gone a bit over board. Would have wanted it to start under 8L considering what they did with the Figo

Verna offers Automatic Transmission for that price. Does the Fiesta come with AT?

Ex-showroom price of 10.5 lakh in Delhi for the top end diesel will surely push the OTR price to 12 lakhs in Bangalore. Not appreciated.

Atleast the base model diesel should have been priced around 8 lakhs ex-showroom. So that it could have been available around 9 lakhs OTR.

Is the new Fiesta more expensive than the Verna? I thought the Verna's Ex S/R Delhi prices are as follows.

Verna Fluidic 1.6 diesel SX - 9,44,877
Verna Fluidic 1.6 diesel SX(O) - 10,15,719

Verna AT is 13+ in Bangalore. Is the NFF Titanium+ also going to be that price? Ofcourse there is no AT.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

What is Ford thinking? The prices are way too high. Why would someone not consider a Vento (Diesel) at those price levels - as long as the equipment levels (or lack of it) in the Vento are acceptable! Even the new Verna seems to be priced well considering the engines on offer.

Yes, it is costlier than Verna! This was not expected.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

Pricing seems to be on a higher side. I still think people will go with Verna as it is a better all rounder. IMO interior looks of verna is better than fiesta.
Also Ford should plan launching an AT version, probably their dual clutch version as AT market in 10-11L is picking up nicely.

All these days i felt Verna and Honda city are over priced. Now they are looking VFM looking at Fiesta prices

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

I don't think the pricing is any good. With Honda aggresively pushing City's sale and the gorgeous new Verna available for those looking for a diesel, this kind of pricing by Ford will surely not make this car a big success.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

This suggests that Ford is not underpricing the car to capture market volumes.
They have got their best car into India. Albeit with a 100 cc capacity disadvantage to others, one could argue that this car could still be the best in the segment in a lot of aspects.
The 100 cc disadvantage probably will not shoo away buyers since not many would even notice the power difference when you compare it with the diesel Verna or the ANHC petrol.
Yes, the awkward back could be one reason why a buyer is made to look elsewhere, but there still was no reason for Ford to underprice this car.

This will start a true fight between these cars now. Lets see who wins now.
And lets wait and see who comes ahead 4 years from now when these cars would have aged and would have lived their lives.

My guess:
Now: Verna-Fiesta-Vento-City
4 years from now - City-Fiesta-Vento-Verna

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

For petrol car customers this suddenly makes the ANHC look like value for money. Considering the not so exciting performance of the NFS petrol, I guess many people will opt for other competing cars.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

oh no!!

FMC, these are not killer prices. These are killing prices. I had anticipated a max. of INR 10 lacs ex-showroom Delhi for Titanium+. I will have to lug out an additional 42K for the Titanium+ now.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

Wow that pricing looks like Ford is about to make a huge goof-up for an otherwise good car. The Vento and Verna look to be higher value to me now. Hope they gauge the market response to this pricing and consider revisions.
