Many thanks, Arun for alerting all of us to this recall- I happened to read about this first on Suhaas' thread on his impeccable 2015 W10.

I also do experience, at times, a slight hassle to close the Left-hand side door- this may explain why. Need to call the service advisors if all the vehicles are subject to this recall.

Thanks again.

Mahindra keeps doing these recalls time and again so dont worry and get it done for free, unless you have some time issues.

Named our new family member Arion, after the divine & immortal horse in Greek mythology which is touted to be the fastest steed in all of creation.

Added reverse parking camera (with Nightvision), front fog lamps (without chrome garnish), rear bumper guard & dual-tone PVC black/beige mats to make it a bit more complete. I was also initially interested in the front parking sensors & HUD but dropped the plans later, because the dealership couldn't procure them on time.

Now waiting to finalise a good set of Plati/Momo alloys and upgrade the OEM Apollo Apterra tyres, which have come shod with our Cheetah, to either Yokos or Bridgestones. Hopefully soon.
Looks awesome - Congratulations. So finally a diesel steed?
I am wondering how the Creta diesel instead of a Creta Petrol would have stacked up against the XUV 500

Decided to inject a bit of colour and sportiness into the (very) bland interiors of our Arion (W6+, as I like to call it after the additions):

Also got a heavy & durable boot mat for the (folded) 3rd row:

Autoform's new U-HST seat cover set for the XUV500, which includes a pair of pillows, a pair of neck rests & a steering cover.

Complete set, including fitment, cost Rs 18,000/-.

Hi guys,

I have some minor pen/thin scratche lines, thanks to some idiot at mandwa jetty parking. Looks like purely intentional and in bad faith.

Anyways my xuv is silver. What's the best way/ cheapest effective way to get rid off them? It's been 3-4 days only as of now.

Tia

Re: 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : Official Review

I was at Unnati motors Pune on Friday. I saw a new 'G' version of XUV on display at the showroom. If I remember what I saw correctly, it was an automatic variant, with 6 airbags, touchscreen, no sunroof. The single page specifications sheet had a mention of this XUV after the W10 variant. The specifications of this variant were somewhere mid-way between W9 and W10. The pricing sheet did not have any details about it.

The XUV sales person was away and hence could not get any details about this. I was also in a hurry, so could not dig further. Is this is the petrol version or a new diesel variant for XUV ?

Yes this is the petrol version as G stands for gasoline.

Re: 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : Official Review

hi All,

Just wanted to check how the XUV500 is doing now from recent owners. One hears that a lot of niggles have been fixed in the recent versions.

I am looking at the W6 variant hoping that the lesser number of gizmos will lead to a relatively troublefree ownership. The only feature that I will miss from W10 are the 6 airbags and AWD.

Thanks All

Hi Vishnu,
Go ahead with the XUV 500, if you're not too worried about the new face lift. The existing 140 hp is more than enough for this vehicle and the equipment you get on W6 is definitely on par or better than the other vehicles on the W6 price point.

Thanks,
Avi

My advice, wait for couple of months and get a fresh looking W6 with more power. Rest if you getting a sweet deal on current one, then go for it. And yes, W6 is THE model to go for if you want less headache in near future (more the electronics, more the headache).

All issues in initial lots are fixed. Models after 2013 Oct has been trouble free, few rattling and infotainment issues existed which was mostly fixed in 2015 facelift.

There are no issues in current generation of XUV which should make you think twice before buying one.

As others mentioned,.with current generation (140bhp) you will not feel lack of power anytime. However, 170 is always better than 140.

Incase you can, wait for new model. You should be able to get better idea after AutoExpo next month.
