Q1 is almost getting over and Ford plans to launch Freestyle in Q2. Which means, they are unlikely to launch updated Aspire in Q2. Ford might launch Figo twins in Q3, during the festival season. If you are going for diesel titanium, I don't expect much changes and mechanical's are going to remain identical to current gen.

My guess is that New Aspire will probably launch at the end of the year - earliest would be Diwali. Even the Freestyle launches only in May.

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

It has been Ford's habit of being a step behind the competition and be late to the party. Festive season is too far away. Dzire is already there and with the new Amaze (launching soon), things are going to get even more difficult for Ford. A suggestion to Ford - Please hurry up!!

Wow, such an accurate guess! I took the car to JSP Ford, CK Palya, Bangalore. The service person first looked at the raised car and said there is nothing. I told him to check the wiper fluid and then he found out that there was indeed a leakage from one of the connected tubes. The greenish colour was from the soap. It took about 20 mins to fix it. I was quite surprised that JSP ford charged nothing for this. Quite impressive I would say from JSP Ford as compared to the earlier Lathangi Ford.

As a side note: My car was rear ended a month ago, with the boot lid being slightly bent and would not lock easily, lots of gaps between the bumper, headlight and sides, etc. I took it to JSP Ford for the first time. They initially quoted a cost of 8K+ to fix it as fixing the boot lid would damage the paint and therefore the entire lid would need to be repainted. However the final cost was only 800+ and my car looked like it has never been rear ended. So far the experience with this new dealer is good.

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

Hi, Does anyone know the make and model number of the official rear camera used by Ford in the 2015 series of Aspire cars? The official rear camera I had was damaged recently when my car was rear ended. To replace it, Ford charges around 12K that also includes rear view mirror, but in my case only the camera needs to be replaced.

I am struggling to get the camera that can match the range of the camera used by Ford. Whatever I can buy locally appears to have a minimum range of 7 feet, while the official one I had before, can show something on the floor about 3 feet or so. Would appreciate any help or input in this regard.

Have you checked AliExpress.com ? I'm sure you'll get what you want there.

Ford Aspire Electric to hit markets next year, part of Ford-Mahindra alliance

Ford Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra have joined hands to jointly develop electric vehicles for the ever-expanding Indian car market. The Ford Aspire Electric sedan is now the first car to be borne out of the Ford-Mahindra alliance, according to a report from Cartoq. The Aspire Electric Vehicle (EV), upon its launch, will become the cheapest Ford-badged electric car.

In a report from TOI, sources have stated the Aspire electric to launch next year and have quoted them saying, "Ford has gained tremendously from Mahindra's strength in electric vehicles technology. The Aspire will be the first to hit the roads and, unlike its existing petrol/diesel version, which is under 4-meters in length, the electric variant will be a longer one. This is being developed jointly and is an ambitious and bold step. The joint SUV project is at a very advanced stage and while there will be a joint platform, the design will be individual for both the companies in line with their brand philosophies".

The two carmakers are also working on a new platform to develop an SUV which will spawn out two versions for Ford and Mahindra. Details on the Aspire Electric sedan are scarce at the moment, but there are chances that the upcoming Ford will be borrowing a massive amount of tech from the Mahindra Verito Electric.

Official details are not available as of now. But we can safely say there will certain modifications were done to the Verito Electric powertrain for the Aspire Electric sedan.

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

I find a strange behavior in my petrol Aspire. It cruises at 100 kmph in fifth gear without any strain. But, when I try to cruise at 80 in fourth gear, I feel as if the engine is very strained. There is slow progress post 80 kmph in fourth gear. If I upshift to fifth gear, it picks up the pace again. As per the manual, the car redlines at 6300 rpm which is incidentally where the peak power of 86 bhp lies. I wonder why I am unable to feel the power post 3500 rpm. I usually don't rev the car too much and maintain it below 3500 rpm, but this question popped my mind when I saw a query related to power loss at a certain rpm in elite i20 thread.

Here is one more case of head-on collision of the Aspire. All the occupants are safe without any injury. This accident happened on Expressway ( Ahmedabad- Baroda) at more than 70Kmph speed. I checked this car personally and I must say that Ford's built quality is amazing.

Has the production of the Figo aspire ended or being suspended?

I found the following pictures that say they are from the plant and that the Figo Aspire production has ended.

There are no pics attached!

Recently, I was told by Ford dealer that Figo and Aspire were being "made to order" and would have minimum 45 days of wait period. Also, again recently heard radio ads of some 50-50 finance campaign on existing stock whereby one pays 50 percent now and 50 after a year or so. Its a clear sign that updated version is near.

If true then it's indeed an emotional moment for us Gen-1 Aspire owners.

So what do we have in store now?

Further dip in already poor resale value? Indifference of FASS towards previous gen Aspires? Getting looked down upon by next gen model owners?

Sorry for painting a gloomy picture, but I dread even thinking about driving a discounted model, that too when mine hasn't even completed 5 months and I am purely in love with it.

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

Not a good moment for me. Got the aspire in October itself and the news of it being shut down isn't good. Also my father banged it into a parked motorcycle in our compound while reversing which has led to a cracked bumper and dented boot lid

Although on the positive note, our car would be rare just as the global Fiesta.

Relax guys. In all likelihood, it's the last batch of the current version. Facelift coming soon.

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

Guys chill, it is just a sign of the facelift version's production starting I suppose. Notice that they have drawn an image of the front grill specifically!

We already have a thread for Figo and Aspire facelifts right? And Ford also showed the Freestyle concept based on the updated Figo, so the Figo Twins are not going anywhere anytime soon.
