Any idea what must be wrong this time.
I have recently clocked 80k kms and scheduled service was done a week back only.
Any update on the issue? Also please write to Mahindra customer service and keep them looped in all communication from MASS.

AMT or Manual?

I faced similar issue on my AMT. I was cruising on highway at 80 kmph and suddenly felt power loss. I slowly moved it to left side and it finally went to N. I tried to shift to Manual model and pressed accelerator, but no response from my tank. I then panicked and turned off the engine waited for few minutes and tried again. It worked.

As per MASS fly wheel kit issue and got changed in warranty. Then after 2 months power loss issue popped up. This time they changed actuator pack assembly again under warranty. Not faced the issue now after 6000 kms.

Mine is manual transmission. The speedometer sensor malfunctioned that's why it was showing no speed & neutral gear while driving. It was replaced under warranty.
Another thing replaced under warranty was centre bearing as there was some noise from it while driving, though I can't feel that noise but MASS felt it and changed.
For 80k service my bill was 7300/-

Re: Mahindra TUV300 : Official Review

Anyone done detailing to their Tank? Any approximate costs? My Tank is turning 3 in May next year and planning to get detailing done, as swirl marks are visible badly now. Being a black colour, they are more evident. 3M quoted 15k for inside and outside detailing. Felt a bit costly. I only treated my Tank teflon coating twice and it costed me 2k max.

I have been detailing mine from day 2.
  • Spent the second day of ownership at 3M getting paint correction and paint protection
  • Always have used a wax or nano sealant after a wash
  • Only water wash my car once in 45-60 days using to prevent excessive swirl marks
  • Got pain correction + ceramic coating done in June 2019 and it wasn't inexpensive

Would suggest you find a good detailer, not necessarily 3M, and talk to them about what you want. If all you need is paint correction + wax/sealant based protection, then you will probably need to budget 12-15K IMO for a thorough job. If you plan to get ceramic etc. then please expect a much bigger bill. Again ceramic costs vary based on type of ceramic as well as layers. Do check the ceramic thread on the forum for more details.

All I want is to get interiors cleaned and get rid of swirl marks. A bit of paint correction is also needed in few patches. Not going for nano coating, got quotation of 30k for it, I would rather gift myself a good JBL sub woofer and new set of speakers than nano coating

interiors cleaning should cost you about 4-5K and paint correction should be about 7-8k.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 : Official Review

If you give them an inch, they'll take a mile...

In the last 10-12 days, I've completed 2 roadtrips totalling 2580 Km, both of them with a minimum of ~60 kg of rooftop luggage:
1) Trip 1 - 6 adults + 1 toddler
2) Trip 2 - 7 adults + 2 toddlers

Phew! This is just a part-time 7 seater for crying out loud! If I'd known that my Tank would elicit such (ab)uses in my family, I'd have just gone for a white board Tempo Traveler.

In any case, other than the compressed space in the 3rd row and its limited highway performance, my Tank is a really trustworthy workhorse. And it's not that my family complains about the lack of space in it either. It's just me who is concerned about what I'm putting them through. My family members have meanwhile sung many a song, enjoyed many sights in the Western ghats and laughed so much in the last 10-12 days...

My Tank is meanwhile back to its daily office commute duties whereby I drive it through broken backroads to office, 50 Km a day.

I guess the T300 Plus was made just for this purpose. Extra space in the last row and the same engine as the Scorpio. I've haven't seen many of those vehicles though.

Absolutely. I had spotted a P4 variant of the Plus that was parked in the showroom when I was looking around the Mahindra showroom back in Feb 2018. I asked them about the car and they said they knew nothing about it. And the P4 variant didn't have airbags and had a hole in the dashboard where the entertainment system ought to have been. I thought right then that it's a pity because I'd have loved to buy it, if it had airbags, ABS/CBS and an entertainment system. I knew that the Plus' engine and additional space were wonderful additions over the smaller TUV for a small incremental price.

After I bought the smaller TUV is when Mahindra launched the P6 and P8 variants with all these features

I've seen quite a few Plus versions in Hosur, Kumbakonam, Tindivanam, Tirupati, Theni etc.

That's hard luck for you and bad planning by Mahindra. The T300 Plus seems like a badly planned upgrade by Mahindra.

Recently done a 2500 km trip with TUV from Gurgaon to Jaisalmer. It was 900 kms one way, done in 13 hrs with 3 stops. TUV behaved superb. As I was only driving so didn't feel any fatigue also after driving for 900 kms continuously. Average hovered around 14 kmpl as tank was cruising mostly above 100 kmph.

Can you share the route taken please? Looking at the average speed, the road conditions were quite good I suppose

Yes the roads were superb the whole way. Route taken was Gurgaon - jaipur - jodhpur - pokhran - jaisalmer.
Even I was prepared for around 16hr drive as Google maps was showing 15 hrs without break. From Gurgaon to jodhpur it's a proper 4 lane highway, after Jodhpur though the road is single lane but butter smooth with hardly any traffic.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 : Official Review

Guys, anyone opting for aftermarket head units do note that there is not enough space to accommodate a full sized double din stereo in TUV300 dashboard. Full sized double din units will jut out substantially from the fascia and will face a bit downwards. Only the thin bodied Android units and the single Din Sony XAV AX5000 slots in properly. I managed to fit a JVC unit after some serious cutting through of dashboard trims. Still didn't get a flush fit as a metal support behind the frame would need to have been tampered with which I didn't have to courage to do and neither would recommend.
