It could just be the 4x4 sticker. White board registration possible by under the table method in Koramangala RTO.

Standard variant gets lower ground clearance, 15 inch wheels, different wheel arches and loses a grab handle for the driver.

Hi Ride gets 16 inch wheels, wheel arches similar to the V Cross and driver side grab handle.

Our DMax S Cab is going for registration tomorrow and delivery planned for Wednesday 2nd half of the day.

I would have bought the 4 wheel drive in an instant if it was available

Recently there are increasing number of cases being reported of Vcross related to clutch master slave cylinder failures being reported on various forums specific to vehicles manufactured between June-July-August of 2017.

Is this covered under warranty and why isn’t Isuzu India issued any recall for the same as it will be of great inconvenience if stranded on highways or remote places.

Also to note is that the reservoir is common for both clutch and brakes. The current cylinder that is being changed is of a different design.

The clutch master cylinder failure is prevalent in vehicles beyond this duration also, e.g. mine is May '17 batch and has suffered the same fate. As of now, they are replacing free of cost with no question asked ( it has become quite common!) but the point remains why this issue is happening at the first place in such a large number? Yes it is totally unacceptable to live in the fear of the failure while out exploring some remote areas. As such with the existing minuscule service network, Isuzu doesn't have the resources to serve all corners of the country, so the reliability of the vehicle has to be paramount and this issue is definitely not helping that. Thankfully my case happened well within the city with a service centre within 20 kms but I can't imagine what would have been the situation if this would have happened during my last trip to the further corner of Pangi valley just a month ago!

Correction in manufacturing batch of Vcross as January 2017 to October 2017 instead of June-July-August 2017 as confirmed by a member who just got the clutch master cylinder, the service centre head has told him that Isuzu is aware of this problem and replacing them free of charge under warranty but not issuing a recall as it will hit the brand image. I have known that Japanese Companies are honest with good ethics but Isuzu surprisingly is acting otherwise and putting drivers and passengers at risk in case of vehicle being stranded on highways and remote hilly areas. It will take a day to tow the vehicle to the nearest service centre and another 2 days to get the vehicle repaired post internal mail approvals.

Isuzu has revealed that due to customer demand, an automatic variant of the V-Cross is being considered. It is currently available with a 5-speed manual transmission and is powered by a 2.5-litre diesel engine:


Earlier this year, we had reported that Isuzu updated the V-Cross and added more features:


The features added includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, cruise control, daytime running lights, LED tail lights, rear view camera, 2-Din touchscreen infotainment system and a new side-step:

Isuzu is also planning to make India a global manufacturing hub for export markets:

This is very good news! I strongly suspect demand would increase once an automatic also comes in as it will be more driver-friendly. But hopefully, they wouldn't jack up the price too much and lose that advantage!

Biggest advantage to an automatic would be that the Master Cylinder Failure that seems to be a recurring theme all of a sudden would hopefully get bypassed as there is no clutch pedal.

It appears not all people are lucky enough to have the clutch cylinder failure within city limits! Just heard about a fellow V-Crosser stranded at Manali because of the same failure and literally fighting with Isuzu for assistance for 30 hours after which pick up was sent for the truck. Thankfully the thing happened when he descended down from Rohtang! What started as one-off type of incidence is now growing in number day by day. It is really hard to accept that such a failure is happening in a brand which is synonymous with the other legendary Japanese brands worldwide in terms of reliability!
