Plus one to it. Just observe which of the cars come to standstill at speed brakers.

Wouldn't this increase break-pad/disc wear faster compared to MT variants.
Do we also loose mileage because of this feature? Is there any other hidden problems because of this?
Most of the torque converter units work in the same way.Its normal and I do not believe it has any effects on the life of brake pads.

Re: Tata Hexa : Official Review

I have booked a test drive and got a call from Concorde Hyderabad. The guy who dealt on phone spoke very good and he told "Sir, trust me this is a great car and you will enjoy driving and hopefully own one soon". This is a good change and I am glad Tata is adding every effort to make their car a success.

Re: Tata Hexa : Official Review

On a related note, where are the test drive vehicles? It has been almost 2 weeks since I registered for a drive on the Hexa website as well as at Concorde South Ex. Both had promised to arrange one "very soon". Haven't heard from either of them ever since. Tata, you have to cover Delhi NCR as a top priority market.

Re: Tata Hexa : Official Review

I still don't understand why has it taken TATA so long to bring the Hexa TD vehicle to Kochi, which is one of the most mature car markets in India.

My office colleague happened to contact the local RM today and was informed that the Auto 4x4 variant is on its way to the showroom - expected in about 10 days. He disconnected the phone without asking any more questions.

Anyways, guess there is no other option other than waiting for TDs to begin here.

Jetta DSG also works the same way. It is recommended to shift to N and pull hand break at traffic signals in order to reduce break pad wear.

Actually this recommendation has nothing to do with the Brake Pads longevity but is intended to improve life of the Gearbox. (DSG Failures if you recall from Skoda and VW group threads)

Brakes Pads wear down only when the car is rolling to a stop under braking, not after it has stopped.

Adding to this, it is good to have crawling feature on any AT car without this it is very difficult to drive AT specially on inclines.

A sales executive at concord motors, Bangalore, near hosur road, confidently said that the pricing for Hexa XT (manual - top end), would be around 23 on road. He said that's the rumour among the staff. XM would be around 19.
Thought of posting this information in the thread.
Pretty expensive! Hope it stays as a mere rumour!

I don't think that can be real. Considering even Aria prices, this is too far a stretch. I am sure Tata is not suicidal to attempt something so unrealistic. If they did, probably a good case study for MBA students.

Re: Tata Hexa : Official Review

A quick walkaround video of the Hexa shot during night time, showing the illumination of the head lamp sections, fog lamps, tail light sections, turn indicators and the fully lit interiors - speedo, MID, steering-mounted controls, HU, map lights and also a super-quick look at the all-illuminated buttons panel on the driver's door.

Credit to Ishaan Rohilla for sharing. This TD car is available at AutoVikas, New Delhi.

Also, TD cars have arrived at:

Vadodara, Gujarat.

If that's the case then the Hexa would be a dead on arrival product.

I'm sorry but a Tata does not have the brand pull as that of a Hyundai nor does it command the reliability & serviceability of a Maruti.

So anything more than the current prices of the Aria would be suicidal.

IMO, Hexa has to compete within the 12 to 16.5 lakhs bracket to see any success.

I don't see any way Hexa can start at 12. My guess is they will go head to head with XUV. So a range of 15 to 22.

For the sake of those who have fallen in love with the Hexa (me included), let's hope this doesn't turn out to be true.

No one will pay 22 big ones for a Tata. If that's the case, it'll be like the S-cross - super competent car, killed by the way it is (was) overpriced, the 1.6
