Re: Maruti Dzire : Official Review

Did they have production issues leading to huge backlogs? If so, this could answer the huge dealer dispatches last month. I ask this because Dzire has been launched since quite some time. Yet I rarely see any of the new Dzire in my city which is surprising. I am sure I must have seen more Tigors on the road than the Dzire till date, which itself is selling in low numbers.

That said I was even more surprised to see a new Dzire LDi a couple days ago, running on yellow plates. Never imagined such a popular car to be even available to a taxi guy. And the Dzire Tour is already there for yellow plate use. Weird!

It's like Activa now! Ubiquitous, and people don't bat an eyelid when they see one! The car performs flawlessly, on expected lines - so boring in a way!
Not sure about the AMT versions though. Till someone in the forum validates.

First new Dzire I saw was a taxi. I saw very few private cars comparing to taxi Dzire. One more thing is, it is difficult to distinguish new Dzire from other cars if you are viewing it from rear/side. There is no design elements which stands out. It gels well in our traffic.

+ 1 to that. Same in my part of the country too. Hardly any new DZires. Those that I have seen, are predominantly yellow plate.

However, there is one in my office. Saw it parked right besides the previous generation today & the ground clearance while less on paper, doesn't seem any less to naked eye. So its primarily some little part or plate somewhere that has come lower than previous lowest point that has got the GC number lower.

Maruti sells 31,000 Dzires in August; a new record

Maruti Dzire has become the no. 1 selling car in India in the month of August. According to the sales figures (August 2017 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis), Maruti Suzuki sold 30,934 units of the Dzire compact sedan last month, setting a new record. This number includes the new-generation Dzire (private owners) and previous-generation Dzire which is sold only to taxi operators. Maruti Alto was in the second position with over 21,521 units dispatched last month followed by the Baleno at 17,190 units. Hyundai Grand i10 was the highest selling non-Maruti car in the seventh position at 12,306 units.

The third generation Maruti Dzire was launched in May 2017. The compact sedan is built on Maruti's new HEARTECT platform, which it shares with the Baleno. The car comes with projector headlights with LED DRLs and a 7.0-inch infotainment system. Safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist are standard across all variants.

The Dzire is offered with two engine options - a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 82 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4,200 rpm and a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder diesel that makes 74 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and AMT is also available as an option.

Re: Maruti sells 31,000 Dzires in August; a new record

I feel the current Dzire has finally managed to hit the sweet spot for everyone with looks, features and gearbox combinations. Also Maruti has finally showed some boldness in the colour shades offered on the car and it has paid off really well. Almost 60-70% of new Dzires that I have seen on road are in that sparkling dark blue shade and it really looks luxurious.

Re: Maruti Dzire : Official Review

I am looking forward to buying Maruti Dzire sometime early next year but for that I need to book the car right now considering the waiting period. I am looking to buy the AGS variant but I am confused about conflicting reports about problems with AMT gearbox which Maruti uses. Do new Dzire's have serious problems with AMT unit?? or can it be survived?? Since it will be driven in Mumbai city itself with occasional outstation trips, considering the city traffic, I would prefer AGS variant.

Your suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Re: Maruti Dzire : Official Review

Addition of so many vehicles is truly a worrying sign as the infrastructure to sustain them simply isn't developing at the same pace. There is also a shift in buying patterns with people buying bigger cars than ever before. Bookings for 10,000 Jeep Compass whose on-road price is upwards of 20L is mind boggling. Is India's economy really on the rise or are people taking the risks of financing a bigger vehicle than they can afford. The moment news of GST or cess hits the market, people flood the car showrooms to make bookings. This makes me think that perhaps a slowdown of jobs and economy is a thing of fiction. People have more money than they can spend #FridayMusings. The Government however does not seem to like this growth of the vehicle industry

Multiple factors. 2 of the top in my opinion -
1. People indeed now have more money. Indian economy has certainly grown with more people now into middle/upper middle and rich classes.

2. Homes have become impractically costly & now a days the people who'd have tried and invested into a home rather than buying a luxury car, don't see the value in returns by investing a huge amount of money with loan into a flat. Instead, more of them/us now buy a costlier car instead for some fun factor in daily life.

Re: Maruti Dzire : Official Review

I test drove petrol dzire and booked it a few days ago. Its VXi trim in gallant red color. I called the sales manager yesterday and he informed me that it is at indian border and will be cleared by customs and be made available to me in Nepal in a week's time.

The test drive that I took extended from the showroom to where I live and it is roughly 9-10km in total. Having test driven honda city 1.5 ivtec a couple of days earlier, the drive in dzire was average. Certainly, there's bound to be differences owing to so much of difference in price.

Anyway, what worries me is that several people on a facebook group on dzire that I follow have complained of vibrations. They mentioned that they are so much irritated by the vibrations especially when shifting from first to second gear that they feel like discarding their car. I did not feel any such vibrations in my test drive car. (i owned tata indica petrol previously. That was to let you know of my driving history).

I assume that it might have been case with a few cars only. Then, all the first batches of balenos had defective suspension which required change. Will dzire also require something like this later on? Has any fellow bhpians felt this vibration issue with dzire? Is Figo Aspire 1.2 tivct trend suggested over dzire vxi?

I've attached a screenshot of that group. And there are several who faced this issue.

Completely agree to this. Interior is far below average quality and the dashboard is out of connection. See the outlines around the touchscreen console, looks like a plastic toy to me (Even toys are perfect nowadays).

Re: Maruti Dzire : Official Review

Hi Friends,

I had booked a Blue Dzire ZXi+ on 26th June, 2017 at Rohan Motors, Noida, U.P.

Unfortunately, my RM never calls. Today I got to know from them that they just donot have any clue of my car's delivery. I would like to mention that on every call which they answer, they ask me to change my colour preference... Everytime!

I want to know if there is really a production issue of Blue coloured Dzire's with MUL or is it just a problem created by the dealer - Rohan Motors???

Regards,
Spandan
