Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Anyone here using 70mai Pro plus+ A500S Dual channel Dashcam on their Thar?

Since Thar has straight windscreen hence mounting a dashcam might be an issue.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Thar was the best selling Mahindra for January 2022.

Thar sales grew by 47% YoY and 117% over last month. It surpassed the volumes of XUV300 & Bolero to become Mahindra's best seller for January 2022.

Now that is something! I am sure Veejay Nakra, in his wildest dreams, would not have imagined that a 2-door jeep will be the best selling model in their entire portfolio, even if as a one off case for a particular month. Goes on to show the market potential for this genre but the oafs at MSIL will continue to "evaluate" their Jimny plans for India

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Finally the "4*4 last used in xxxx" kms can stop taunting me now
Had a brilliant drive towards Dhanaulti in the snow. The Thar performed like a rockstar, starting to have fun where most other cars stopped, once you moved the small little lever next to the gear shifter

I reside in Noida and am not sure of this. Can you please share the source/link to the news for this? It would be very helpful for me.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

I saw a review post on Amazon for the 70mai Pro Plus A500S, the dash cam is installed on the new Thar.

I posted a similar query few days back here but got no response. Currently I use a Yi dash camera, but its getting old now, asking for retirement, so I plan to get a Dual channel dash camera this time around.

70mai seems like a good option. Too bad, we have no Aliexpress delivery here. Its 7.5K in Aliexpress, but here we have to pay Rs 9799 at Nexdigitron or 10499 at amazon for the A500s

Totally wrong. Any diesel vehicle which is over 10 years old or petrol vehicle over 15 years cannot be driven in NCR. If found these will be impounded and scrapped.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Any Thar owner who feels that the side foot steps on the LX are a bit flimsy? I plan to replace them with Metal rock sliders.
Anyone who have got rock sliders installed on their Thar?
Need suggestions on Rock sliders.

Even I am thinking the same but let me tell you one thing. I weigh 92 kg and was surprised that it could hold my weight for 20 seconds and I did not fear much.
The only thing my Mom said was to do something as she finds them slippery. All after market solutions are expensive, seems like everyone wants to cash in on the Thar craze and it's after market accessories.

Yes, the aftermarket guys are seriously cashing in on the new Thar. And thanks to Govt. of India's ban on Aliexpress, even few small insignificant electronic stuff helpful for DIY mods on the Thar are unusually expensive now.

"We're still deeply evaluating and studying the market". Or MSIL would be busy exploring on where can they plonk a LPG or CNG tank in the Jimny

For records, our thread "Maruti to finally bring Jimny to India?" was created in Aug 2019.

When I got my Thar, there weren't any rock sliders worth it's while - except the OE from the AX line, which wasn't great anyway.

I've managed to damage the foot steps quite a bit, thanks to all the rocky terrains I enjoyed the Thar in - I'll wait till they are almost falling apart, Arka has a decent rock slider that I'll eventually switch to...

I've got the Arka ones. Excellent build quality. And the coating on top to make it slip-proof is excellent. Very very sturdy.
