Re: BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine Review (Long Wheelbase)

Update on the rattling issue. As per the service advisor, it was the sun roof that was the root cause of the noise. They have rectified the same and also put tape on the doors. Thankfully the noise has gone for now.

The bite is definitely sharper as compared to other vehicles that i have driven. With regards to whiplash, i find the jerk to be more pronounced while engaging the auto hold fuction. Have stopped actively using auto hold and it doesnt seem to be bothersome any more.

Re: BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine Review (Long Wheelbase)

Update on the sensitive braking issue: Eco pro mode and switching off auto hold has solved the issue. Configured Eco Pro Individual steering to Sport and switched off Eco Pro climate control and it seems to be best setting for me even on highways(occasional use of paddle shifts were needed).Did a 600km drive this weekend. Bonus is fuel efficiency. Achieved 15.5 kmpl average on the trip.Thank you.

Hearty congratulations! The car looks stunning in this shot with the welcome light carpet. Wish you many many happy miles ahead

Any feedback from the members here on the 225/50 R17 RFTs on 320Ld / 330Li Luxury Line ? I am sure they are more resistant to our beautiful pothole ridden roads than larger rims with lower profile tires, but was curious to know if anyone facing any usual RFT issues like bulging / cracks with this size ?

No issues with my car’s RFTs touchwood. Any tyre can burst/puncture etc. but the RFTs are fairly well acclimatised for Indian conditions

Agree with Abhi_Automobile, I ran my June 2020 330i Sport for ~24K km on the OEM 225/50/17 Bridgestone Turanza RFTs, and did not face any issues with bilging or cracks. I did have a rear tyre (contained) blowout but that was due to a 4" long spike that would have murdered any tyre.

Only issue with the Turanzas (specifically) is that they age badly, and are done with their effective life by ~20K km, by which time they turn harsh and very noisy.

Thank you I look forward to the miles ahead.

The wheel size was the only reason I didn't go for the Msport because even in the test drive I could make out that not only was the tyre noise more prominent the ride was harsher too. Also tyres in any case are the pain points in all Germans this side of the spectrum so i'm hoping bulging/cracks should be comparatively reduced in the Luxury trim compared to the Msports.

Re: BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine Review (Long Wheelbase)

Is it just me or is cleaning a black car really the turbocharged shortcut to get a burst of dopamine!? It’s unbelievably satisfying when the end result turns out to be so pretty.

Although, someone dinged my front door in the office parking later that day.
Any recommendations on fixing door dings at home? I’m sure bmw will charge a bomb to do it.

Re: BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine Review (Long Wheelbase)

Got RaceChip XLR - Throttle tuning box from the UK. This tiny Plug n play box is a must have. Extensively tested it on 330li for a week.Wow…. makes the car a lot lively. Turbo lag is non existent. Eco pro is more driveable. Comfort is real joy.And sport mode is awesome. Coming from diesels i found the petrol 330li downshifting frequently to provide the needed torque and the xlr solves this issue. The car is punchy, torquey and diesel-like now along with the explosive top end of petrol.Try this before you go for a remap.Wonder why the car doesn’t have a similar throttle tune by default?

Re: BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine Review (Long Wheelbase)

The My BMW app suddenly seems available for India! It is not a pure coincidence as well since the recently BMW XM seems to have connected features. My BMW salesperson says that from next year on, BMW cars will have ADAS and connected features. Hope they support ConnectedDrive on i7

I also noticed but it didn't recognise my VIN. What about you?
