Front profile is a little weird and overdone, side and rear profile look classy though. Gets all the required features in this segment. Pricing will be crucial.

Should go max 50k above the respective City variants for it to sell in decent numbers. Anything above that will drastically reduce sales numbers as people are already preferring the SUV body shape.

However getting a feeling that they'll price it slightly above the Kushaq.

Pretty good looking and proportionate car from outside barring the high stance. The reason why sedans are known for their brilliant handling dynamics is due to them being low slung. Raising the GC might leave it in a 'neither here nor there' category. IMHO the interiors are straight-up boring. Maybe tuxedo black or red interiors like Astor might jazz it up in future Monte Carlo/L&K variants.

Also that instrument cluster from Taigun is a sad borrow. No matter how many times I look at it, it is just very bad use of a premium real-estate.

All in all, really excited to get my hands on this one.

Yes this one has the updated roofliner and not the one which Kushaq came with.

Additional point: During the launch they cleverly mentioned "dual barrel LED headlight cluster", but in the pics it looks like the inner barrel has halogen blinkers and only one barrel has the LED headlight.

That's one classy looking sedan. Not sure about the the lifted appearance but if it works for Indian roads, it's good.

It's a surprise that the Slavia gets electric sunroof and ventilated seats but the Octavia doesn't.
Hope the Octavia will also gets an update with these features!

The Slavia looks good!
But I agree with the rest of the members on the raised stance. It looks ungainly and spoils what would have been a damn good sedan.

You could, I guess, put bigger wheels on the car to reduce the gap.
Might make the stance better but then it would be a compromise on comfort and durability with the lower sidewalls on the tyre.

All in all, a damn good effort, at least visually.

The only 2 reasons to go for the Octavia now would be the higher spec engine and somewhat better quality of the interiors.

As expected from a Skoda, the Interior looks top notch as always. Slavia from the exterior looks a smaller version of the Superb, (feels like they have taken inspiration from the Merc w.r.t., their C,E & S Class respectively).

One thing which is surely going to be attractive is the DSG gearbox, with the Polo GT knocking the DSG off, some petrolheads are still looking for the DSG in the price bracket of Below 15!

Looks stunning to my eyes. That 150 BHP is an absolute delight for an enthusiast in this mid sized sedan segment.

Even though the raised ground clearance makes it look bit odd looks wise , it is needed for our roads. After all its not looking bad at all. Eagerly waiting for variant wise price announcement.

What surprised me is Skoda didn't go for the notch back styled tail gate for the Slavia. I was expecting this. Maybe that bulky rear would have looked more subtle but nevertheless this car is quite a looker. Long live Sedans

In a era where sedans are dying breed it's good to see Germans trying to do what the are best at. How will the sedan + SUV strategy pan out for them will be a good case study for those budding MBA grads.

Slavia is a great alternative to Octavia at a lower price point. There will be some noticeable difference in terms of build quality, engine and gear box etc. Where Slavia will trumps Octavia is the Total cost of ownership over a 5 year period.

Maintenance and extended warranty packages will cost less.

It's a very practical decision to align interior color combination of Slavia to outgoing Rapid. Most of the folks have agreed to the point that Rapid interiors feels much premium than Kushaq grey combination.

Most important addition is Ventilated seats. Hope this is 3 stage instead of current 2 stage. Mass expectation to have a sunroof will satisfy buyers in the segment especially when it is pitted against Honda City.

Exterior colors offered are spot on and would be top notch finish. Red, Grey & Blue do stand out. Only exclusion is the black color. May be L&K variant some day?

Circular vents feel out of place though.

It is strictly a 4 seater and this limitation will be a big sore point for folks not to consider it.

Based on engine options offered it would satisfy enthusiast, chauffer driven and self drive crowd.

All said and done, It has the looks and fire power but for any new product launched in Indian market, it's success story only hinges on the aspect of pricing. Skoda won't surprise us in this department. They will position it premium and how does it translate into sales, where every pundit will try to justify why it is or not a VFM in the segment.

With launch in FEB-22 will be a interesting year to look out for. Hope Skoda keep excitement going by bringing international models of Karoq and Electric Enyaq to keep the fire burning.
