Great and good to hear about deliveries starting. When did you book the car and which variant / color did you book?

I agree, it does not make sense to buy these accessories from dealer.

I hope dealer doesn't say NO to you for Feb delivery on hearing NO from you for accessories.

This just happened with us when we refused to buy insurance from dealership.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

I hope not, although I am not discounting the possibility of it happening.

There is a significant markup that the dealers have on insurance as well as accessories.

Are accessories for the new Kodiaq available in the market?

I guess the foot mats etc would be the same as what goes into the previous generation Kodiaq, not sure about the mud flaps though.

Cheers,

Sid

Is dealer giving option of not buying accessory kit ? In Pune both dealerships are hellbent on selling those to customers. They are not even giving option to take selective items from the kit.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Zac's latest tweet today regarding bookings and deliveries:

"We cannot give you a timeline unfortunately. We have this years production covered with existing bookings. We are in discussion with Skoda auto regarding additional production but nothing is confirmed."

Why did they even bother announcing the car when they had next to non-existent inventory. Now add to this all this hoopla about asking Skoda HQ for additional cars. This begs the question - does Skoda still not understand the Indian market after all these years? This year's Kodiaq was just a minor facelift so there really are no excuses for getting this entire production and allocation so wrong.

I really do feel sorry for all the folks that have to endure this excruciating, uncertain wait. Fortunately, there are plenty of great upcoming cars to wait for - Audi Q3, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Meridian...

It’s the state of the market. It’s the car makers market now with supply chain restrictions owing to Covid and chip shortages have to get used to long wait ones unpredictable delivery schedules etc from almost all of the manufacturers. And to add to that the increasing input costs will only take the prices northwards.

Yes we have heard the "sold out" story before too .
Any idea how many Kodiaqs has been booked?

Will we get the count if we minus Rapid+Kushaq+Karoq(?)+Octavia+Superb numbers from 3099?

I had read somewhere that Skoda was expecting to sell 100-150 units of the Kodiaq per month. That translates to ~1500-2000 units for the year. Is that an indicative number? Or may be higher than this?

We should not go by the excitement in T-BHP, as there is disproportionately high interest in the Skoda brand here.

From what I could understand after speaking to the sales rep, the day of the launch. Skoda had plans to sell 1k cars in the 1st year, that is not even 100 cars per month. To be honest I don't blame them for keeping such a small number, they sold less than 2k cars in 2019 and less tha 500 in 2020. Also, this sold out business is the new market trend, XUV is sold out, Thar is sold out, Creta is sold out, E class, GLE, X5, GLS and so many other premium cars are only on order with a wait of ateast 3 months.

Uncertainties arising due to covid & chip shortage, no company wants to keep inventory. But yes, Skoda should handle it better.

Another walk around. So sadly the Sportline doesn't get the suede roof liner as opposed to the brochure mentioning it.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

This sold-out messaging and unnatural demand generation will backfire imo and will hurt them. Loyal and genuinely interested customers will move on with other options. Competitors are not going to sit idle either - hope jeep and others are watching this.

It was their opportunity to capture a key segment (gap from Endeavour and lack of many options) and they are losing it with poor planning..

Zac should give some of his Twitter time and give more time on basics - from market research, forecasting, planning and execution and better response mechanism with focus on retention for enquiries.

Such a lovely problem to have, Skoda - good demand and customer interest. Don't know how long some of us skoda fans will wait..
