Yes, VW is expected to make an announcement regarding some cosmetic updates on Virtus and Taigun. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...6.cms?from=mdr

While some major changes are unlikely to be made, get electric seat adjustment and footwell illumination.https://www.team-bhp.com/news/scoop-...-taigun-virtus

WOW! The announcement is supposed to be next week, looks like it's time to pull the trigger. *fingers crossed for 360 cam*

I do hope they can be retrofitted to existing models.

I dont think VW would go that far as 360 camera without increasing the prices again, but good if they do.
I got DHC branded 360 cam installed in my Virtus. Daytime quality is good. Night time its ok and does its job and works with stock infotainment system.
Even if VW provided one, considering the quality of stock reverse camera, I dont think the quality of 360 cam would be any better.

Fingers crossed though!!

Thanks for the response. I don't have major complaints about cooling. The only thing is the cyclical hissing sound ac makes when starting cold. Anyway, I am sending the vehicle for 1000 KM checkup tomorrow and I would be raising my concerns.

How does an after market 360 camera system work? Where do the additional cameras get attached? Would you be able to share any pics of how the car looks as well as the output?

It works with the car's infotainment system. When you put the car in reverse gear, it shows rear view with guidelines. When you turn on left indicator, left side view is shown, similarly for right indicator.

Front camera is fitted in lower part of front grille.

Side cameras are fitted on to wing mirrors.

Back camera is fitted in parallel to the existing reverse camera, which is disabled.

Haven't got any pics till now. Will take some and upload later today.

How much did it cost (camera + installation)? And does it have any impact on warranty?

Bought it and got it installed from VW service guys only. So, no impact on warranty as they didnt cut any wires.

Quoted 36k but got it for 33k including everything after bargaining and discount.

It will be very interesting to see how this works and looks.

How do you install cameras on the mirrors and front and feed it to the infotainment without cutting any wires?

One thing that is bugging me is the FE in the car.
I got my Virtus on June 24th, 2022 and have since driven 6329 km up until today. I own a 1.0 litre highline manual model and my driving style varies a lot. I tend to accelerate suddenly to enjoy the turbocharged engine, but 95% of the time, I drive in extremely heavy traffic. Expressway driving only happens once every three months. Additionally, I fill up with Indian Oil XP95 95% of the time.

Now, let's move on to the real fuel efficiency topic. I have logged all the details into Fuelio since day one. Here are the details:

And here is the culprit.

Well, very slight drilling at the mirrors to fit the small cameras, but used the wiring/fuse system within the car to set it up.
This is what the VW guys told me.

Also, since it is done at VW Showroom/Service center and I have proofs of it, I am not concerned about the warranty being void.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

I got a call and gave my Virtus for the AC update today. I asked them about some complaints that people felt power was reduced after the upgrade. I was told that the power should actually increase after the update. They said earlier the compressor was switching on and off too often and this update will fix that. I forgot to ask if FE would reduce (another feedback I saw online)

Anybody has any experiences to share, post AC update (for context I have 1.0 topline)?

Let me ask a simple question. Why did you do it? Why would any enthusiast trade a 3.2 for a budget FWD sedan? Why?

They have done a poor calibration job. Thats not how the top down view of the four cameras must look like. Go back to them and ask them to calibrate the cameras properly.
