If you are doing this purely from aesthetics, Yes. It’s a good brand and you can go ahead. Probably 30 mm should be enough unless you want these to come out even more. Speak to the person and talk what exactly you are looking for. I will personally not add anything on stock wheels though. But it’s only for looks, so it’s highly personal. No right or wrong

Not just thread but existing bolts will foul. Also producing so thin is not possible. The lowest possible seems to be around 22 mm which is barely enough on front hubs if retain OEM bolts and on rear we must go 30mm. Pics from my past post are explanatory. I think fellow member is having troubles due to vibrations.

The below YouTube video from a Karol Bagh shop owner claims that this headlamp is a direct plug and play on the lower MX1/MX3 variants using the same coupler. Even if this is the case, how does one control the DRL using the driving stalk controls provided on the MX3? Would turning it on also turn on standard flat DRLs on the side edges of the car? So then one drives around with 4 DRLs (2 C-shaped and 2 flat?)

Currently the problem with MX3 DRLs (flat ones on sides of the car) is that they need to be switched on by moving the headlight control one step to the parking lamp position. Once you do that, the ICE screen automatically switches to dark (night) mode, which is distracting and not very good for navigation maps etc. in the daytime.

https://Youtu.be/4Tv6urHdGdk?feature=shared
Mahindra may or may not bring this feature to control DRL on lower variants, but this can be done through an after market Canbus Module. These modules have programmed software code that superimposes vehicle's stock software and add software features that were not available originally.

I am using a Canbus module on obd port of my Mercedes E-250 to get moving guidelines on reverse parking camera.

And such Canbus Modules do exist for Mahindra 3xO for Fog Lamp Switch unlock, for Scorpio N for rear camera unlock and one latest for Thar Roxx too for getting Front Camera and Parking sensors to work on lowet variants. Check the attached video.

This opens up many possibilities for the future!

Thanks, and you are happy with your set up from a performance perspective, right? With no vibrations, or pull or any other issue?

I haven't got chance to drive much as I came overseas. Once back I plan to do a trip to NE and will update.

They do good quality and I won't look elsewhere.
I spoke to the guy he says the minimum is 25mm. Will these suit for Roxx front?
Or should I go for 30mm for both front and rear, will be running stock tyres 19” initially..!

You cannot be wrong with either. Very personal choice as it's purely for aesthetic reasons in your case. I went with the smallest as I wanted to be close to stock and would not have even added but for the rubbing on my after-market alloys.

UPDATE: Today morning(10th Jan) the service executive called to send the replacement. The Roof console was replaced by the evening. All's well that ends well

Glad to see Mahindra taking the right steps for customer service.

Hi Sir, Can you share a picture of the part that has been replaced? I have an AX5L and I want to understand what the Roof Console looks like. Is it the part which houses the cabin LED lights, the MIC, sunglass holder? My sunglass keeps rattling whenever I encounter a bump. I have clocked 1K kms and I wish to be mindful of this replacement when I go for the first service at 2k kms.

You should tell them you found them on team bhp. I think I have added photo and video of my Thar in an earlier post.

Does anyone had any experience regarding this type of DRL installation in existing headlights?

I think this Red DRL on my black Thar would look wonderful.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Can anyone confirm this for Thar Roxx 4*4, I plan to get negative offset alloys with 20" alloys with size 5*114.3*12J * -44mm.

1) Will this require cutting of bumper or any other part. If yes then what is the next best option?
2) Will tyre size 285/50/20 fit, if yes what will least noisy tyre options.

I cancelled both my Thar Roxx bookings in December as there was no response from dealer, SA and sales manager. I escalated to Mahindra support to get delivery timelines, but by the time support team came back I was fed up and did not want to give my money to unethical dealer, even if they gave me a car.

It takes about 3 weeks to get the refund back to the original payment mode used to book online.

I would suggest you take a snapshot of each screen presented to you in the cancellation process on https://auto.mahindra.com. This is to make sure you have details available if for any reason the booking suddenly disappears.

Cancellation process:
  1. If you booked online, then cancel from online booking portal
  2. Save snapshots of your cancellation
  3. Send email to bookingsupport@mahindra.com with cancellation details
  4. Wait for 1-2 weeks to get response from support
  5. The dealer will call you about 3-5 days after you initiate cancellation to send copy of cancelled cheque and bank details to issue refund.
  6. These are not needed as I got refund back to my original payment source even after sending my bank details to one dealer.

Yes, I have got it done for Rs 4500.
Single colour only. But the colour is little bluish. The upper variants DRL is warmer. The shop guy said that within a month same colour DRL is coming in the market.
I have done the wiring such that DRL is always on with ignition (not with park lights). The silicon re-seal of lights has been done pretty well and in multiple layers, but only time will tell if it withstand the test of water and heat of Indian summer.
