Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

I know this was discussed earlier as well, but is there a way to connect the Ipod to the LT headunit. Currently it does not detect it, but on some post I read here, it says the display of the HU shows the ipod letters when viewed in bright sunlight. So is there any way to enable this on the HU

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

I use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable to connect my iphone and it works fine using the AUX option. The only drawback is having to use the phone controls instead of the HU.

Still getting 8.5 to 9 kmpl. I always refill at the same pump at the end of the week when it is at about quarter tank untill the auto cut off level. I guess it isnt too bad for Mumbai b2b peak hour traffic with 100% ac 17km each way

For a change, why don't you try a different petrol pump and check your FE.

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Yes currently even I am using it via the aux in. But it is distracting at times to change the songs using the ipod, as opposed to the convenience of changing it using the HU. I searched the net and came up with a DIY / Solution of sorts on integrating the HU.Apparently one would need to buy an Ipod adapter and then hook up to the CD changer port on the factory HU. Now I have to find an adapter and figure out a way to openup the HU

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

I recently upgraded to Diamond Vision for my Accent, from Crystal Vision.

Much better than Crystal Vision, better throw and reach and has a pure whitish effect, with a tinge of blue, though not prominent.

But yes, it is no where as good as HIDs, and not better than something like Osram NBs, but much better than the stock bulbs. In the Beat, when I tried it out before installing it on the Accent, it had an even better throw, as the reflectors on the Beat are far better.

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Guys! i checked my FE in the Auto cut - Auto cut method over a 300km highway run.
The car has returned 15.97kmpl with 100% AC
Sounds low for the Highway.. But it was a very spirited early morning drive with a heavy right foot.
Have to do a similar check for my city driving cycle. Will keep you guys posted!

That is a great mileage you are getting.
Me too observed that 80 - 100kmph is the sweet speed range for getting maximum FE.
I have got 18+kmpl with 100%AC in highway drive @ 80 - 100kmph speed range.

The turning radius is ~4.5m. So very easy for city drives.
The visibility is less compared to other cars because of the high mounted dash, but it gets adjusted after using for a week or two.

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Even i got great FE on my previous highway run.
From Nagpur to Raipur and back, Roads were great. Doing constant 110-120 kmph and with 100 % AC on i got 16.9 kmpl, which i think is awesome as i hardly went below 100kmph.
Most gear upshifts at around 2-2.5 k rpm give me acceptable FE even in city...hovering around 14kmpl with 50 % AC usage...all petrol figures.Earlier used to get veeery low Fe...maybe because of driving style. But once u get the hang of when to upshift (with good balance of power and FE), i guess the car is just great.....thats my experience with 19000 kms on the odo.
