This is your day Adheesh !

MRX 6839 had been struggling on three cylinders for quite a while now. The reason was compression loss due to a loose spark plug whose threading was shot. Despite this, and due to beautiful settings by master tuner Adheesh, she was running with a brave face.
But the job needed to be done and soon. I had been warned by the gurus, that I risked a plug flying out through the bonnet if I continued to drive her this way.
A quick visit to Hemant Satardekar (Prem Auto / Channa Turning Works - Sion Koliwada) - recommended by Mahesh from Shivaji Park, and my problem was sorted - she's as good as new now, the engine note sweeter than ever .
After a passionate conversation on Fiat cars, Hemant having finished the job, started 6839's engine. The sound stunned him - the air settings and Ignition timing is perfect to the T. "I have not seen such a well tuned Fiat in years" was his retort.. "Your settings are beautiful, whoever your mechanic is, my salaam to him !!"
The 'mechanic' - ladies and gentlemen, is our very own Adheesh !!
Hats off to you bro' - 6839 thanks you from the bottom of her cylinder block !!

Congrats - Adheesh!

Youngest Tuner - Classic Car - Celebrity Owner (Mr. Bean),
Vow! what a wonderful combination.

BTW, we are going to miss Adheesh in the near future as he is intending to take up further Automobile Engineering education abroad, from next year.
But, I'm sure that he will spread the FCCCI message wherever he is.

of Bawajis and Fiats...

She's getting her power and pep back at last !!
Saturday afternoon, I went with Adheesh and shopped for a new Solex carb, and a new Fuel pump. Adheesh fitted these himself, by the side of a quiet road. She's roaring with power now, and her sound is silken smoother than ever. Starts with a "half self". (Adheesh could you please give details of the venturi etc.. I'm a dodo at this.)

The interesting part was when we were shopping for the said carb - the shop guy kept telling Adheesh what is available, what is not, etc. With each item he would say "yeh aap ke laayak nahi hai.." (this one's not for you). Adheesh would sternly scrutinize each item, and give his gruff comments..

The moment of truth came when we were about to leave - the guy pointed to Adheesh, and said to me - "Yeh Bawa logon se main bahut darta hoon !" (I get damn scared of these Parsees !!)
I think Adheesh's stern manner, and Hindi laced with English, made him think so - any which way, it's a tribute to all our Bawajis, without whom the world of motoring would never have been the same.
Cheers !

Khazaanaa :)

Behram's recent foray to chor bazaar yielded an awesome treasure trove of goodies for the "Blue and White" ! Checklist:

4 original clip type wheels.. Yayy ! They don't have clips on them, but I'm sure I'll manage to get clips soon -

- all ye benevolent and generous tbhpians, please heed my cry, and spare me a few clips !!

1 original wiper motor with complete assembly - magneti marelli, I think.

1 original Italian control stalk box for lights/signals - Brevetto, made in Italy.

1 original fuse box - 'open type', which sits below the glovebox.

1 original air cleaner box - in the original greyish green shade !!

1 original distributor cap with wires.

MRX 6839 is slowly on her way to OH-REE-G-NALITY !!! Thanks a huge huge bunch Behram !!

I feel there's no need to alter or modify the original settings.

Tried doing that to my cousins Fiat, was FF but bad FE and lot of Vibration making the car a virtual vibrator.

The original exhaust must be available, and nothing to match that sweet sound

Soft but yet giving the right exhaust note.
