Re: All Roads to Kerala

Drove Guruvayoor Bangalore on Friday, Dec 26th. there was no checking anywhere.

I could see cars entering TN from Bangalore getting stopped by TN Cops, guess non TN vehicles are getting checked for Epass/Vaccination certificate. It was not there while we crossed TN border last week

If you are coming via Nadugani or Muthanga, then you need to get RTPCR test done for all, irrespective of their vaccination status.

Is KL asking for this? I don't think so.

Re: All Roads to Kerala

I crossed into Kerala via Muthanga yesterday with my minor child. There was no checking (however, I had taken RT-PCR test result for both of us). On the way back to Karnataka, I need to take RT-PCR test since full vaccination certificate is not sufficient.

Yeah, for KA it was there always. The OP question is specific for towards KL.

Re: All Roads to Kerala

Drove solo Alapuzha to Bangalore today. Left at 5am reached by 130pm with a breakfast break at A2B near Walayar

No checking anywhere - Walayar or at Attibele. Maybe because I had a KA Registration though I am unsure. Had the TN epass and the dual Vaccination certificate just in case but I did not even see a security at both borders stopping any car .

Yes correct, for entering KL, there is no test required.

My answer was specific for entry to KA. Got confused with the location of OP mentioned as Cochin.

Re: All Roads to Kerala

During my drive back to Cochin yesterday, I could see barricades at KL border (Walayar) and 2 cops sitting next to it. But no checks whatsoever. TN just had barricades and couldn't even find the barricades/checkpost in KA.

One thing I noticed is that how sane the drivers are between Walayar and Chalakudy due to the average speed cams. But after Angamaly, it's a different story.

Re: All Roads to Kerala

So I traveled back from Alleppey to Bangalore on 30-Dec. Started from Alleppey @ 03:00AM and reached Bangalore (E-City) @ 12:30PM.

Walayar status (TN):
Reached Walayar @ 06:00AM. There were barricades, but nobody stopping any vehicles. Passed through without stopping.

Attibelle status (KA):
Reached Attibelle around 12PM. I could see a tent setup before the Toll plaza, but could not see any vehicles being stopped/checked. I was looking for any KL vehicles being stopped, but couldn't see any.

Note: I was traveling in my KA vehicle.

This shows the duality and the uselessness of this so called checking.

I feel they are just wasting scarce govt. resources in this baseless exercise rather than deploy them in some productive tasks.

On my return trip from Chennai to Bangalore, I could see a 3-4 cops in the makeshift tents at district borders whiling away the time. Shouldnt they be tyring to close the open cases in the respective jurisdictions?

Re: All Roads to Kerala

Completed my 2 week holiday in Kerala and did TCR - CHN trip today.
-As mentioned earlier, no checks whatsoever at Walayar.
-Roads are good throughout, I used the Salem-Ulundurpet route.
-Entry road to Kuthiran tunnel still WIP. Any idea when this will be completed?
-Lots of users still not migrated to Fastag. Came across cash paying types in almost all toll booths, wasting time.

And finally...

Who is the genius who erected road dividing posts all along the 2 lane section of the Salem-Ulundurpet road? Lost considerable time trailing behind containers and tractors carrying farm equipment with no scope for overtaking.
