If they are actually having a "FasTag" functional lane with RFID reader, one need not stop to pay toll at all between Hyderabsad and Bangalore if the vehicle has the RFID fastag sticker affixed and enough balance.

It's good to know that fast tags are accepted. But I don't remember seeing dedicated lanes for those.

The fast tag has a separate lane but filled with regular vehicles also. It was effortless . On the return within 4 hrs was charged as two way fare. Was followed up with SMS too. Fast tag is a boon for regular roadies like me. ![]() Last edited by ampere : 6th June 2016 at 13:25. Reason: Fixed quote tag

Edit : Gajadonga, you will get 10% discount also. Valid for 1/4/16-31/3/17 period. Let me know when the 8.70 gets credited back to your account. Assuming that you will not use your tag this month. Last edited by hyd_traveller : 6th June 2016 at 14:33.

| ![]() Did a BLR-HYD drive yesterday.Nothing uneventful to report.FasTAG lanes are being readied in most places. The problem as per the Toll staff is that the moment they open that lane up,vehicles crowd into that lane and leads to arguments, hence they prefer to keep it closed. Petrol pumps in the BLR-HYD direction are far and few as opposed to the HYD-BLR direction.Stopped at Food Pyramid. This one is on the lines of the Food 7 on NH9 at Suryapet.I just hope the place is maintained(maintenance is always the biggest issue). For the drive towards Sainikpuri, took the ORR from Shamshabad all the way to the Ghatkesar Exist and then drove via Rampally Main Road-Nagaram-ECILXRoads-AS Rao Nagar-Sainikpuri. This is a breeze as opposed to driving via the messy Mehdipatnam traffic at the fag end of a long drive. This is also my regular route to the airport now a days when I travel my own car.Distance is more ofcourse, but is compensated by no traffic and less drive times. |

Both Pyramid and 97 both are good stopovers. Decent washrooms.Food quality is also good. 97 seems to be costly than Pyramid in prices. 97 has a indianoil bunk next to the restaurant if u fill fuel 10 percent discount in the restaurant. ![]()

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Guys, beware of new speed guns after Jadcherla near Bhutpur. A friend of mine was fined Rs 400 for doing 106 kmph at a zone that had a limit of 80 kmph.. He does not remember seeing a speed limit board. But the cop in the Innova had proof! He gave him a colour print of the car and the speed he was doing! He gave him an receipt too! This is the first time I'm hearing of speed checks in Telengana region of the highway. I was quite aware of the ones in Kurnool area though. While on this, I remember seeing several speed limit boards between Kurnool and Anantapur. Honestly, I was quite above those limits as the road was empty and alluring. In all fairness, I think they should also post boards that say 'speed limit ends' like the ones in UK. Else how the heck do they expect people to continue driving at 70 for hours togehter? |

| ![]() Thanks for the video satpalsharma. I'm planning to do Bangalore - Hyderabad - Bangalore in near future. This video give a glimpse of the road and traffic. What will be the approximate driving time if maintained moderate speed without breaks. |

One way will take around 6 hours without breaks. I did the to and fro during end May, once during evening-night and the other in afternoon-evening clocking similar timings. Speeds maintained were between 90-110 kmph. |

To get to Himayatnagar, before you hit hyderabad look for aramghar x roads on your google maps, take a left there for the PV Narasimha rao flyover which will take you to Mehdipatnam in the city. Once you land at mehdipatnam where the flyover ends, its mehdipatnam-masab tank-lakdi ka pul - secretariat circle - tank bund circle - himayatnagar circle. Google maps can easily guide you to himayatnagar. This route through mehdipatnam has traffic during morning and evening peak office hours. There is a CCD on NH7 between jadcherla & shadnagar (1 hour before hyderabad on the other side of highway when you coming from bangalore) where I went recently. This place serves good coffee and has clean rest rooms. In this thread other team bhpians have recommended a place called food pyramid (~ 90 kms after kurnool). I heard of speed guns and fines (on this thread) around bhootpur about an hour or more before you reach hyderabad. Advisable to stick to speed limits.
