Argentina were breathtaking yesterday...while the Netehrlands almost got blown off by Drogba alone.

Today -

Czech - Ghana = 3-0
Italy - USA = 2-0
Portugal - Iran = 2-1

Hey, Finally my team decided to send out some strong warning signals to the others .... just hope they don't peak too early !! Anyways , yesterday saw some interesting games .. The Dutch were taken by surprise specially after they thought they had it in the bag after the second goal . Ivory Coast sadly has to exit though they really did deserve to move farther ...

Mexico vs Angola --- Poor Mexicans .. they tried everything that they cud but to no luck !!! The ball just refused to enter the net in the Angolan side fo the field and that technicaly cud lead to Angola standing a chance to meake it to the last 16 .. wudnt that be great for them ????

The WC is getting interesting now .....

Cheers

What a match! Never seen three red cards in the same match before. Read somewhere it's only the fourth time its happened in the history of the world cup. The de rossi elbowing was really horrible.

Today could be Australia's big day - have this dirty feeling inside that the Brazil-Australia match could end in a draw.

The elbowing incident was plain horrible --- good to see the cocky Italians being held but the Czechs being beaten comprehensively by Ghana was too much maan....I mean Ghana of all the teams ??? This group is sure getting interesting......

Hey, As far as the Aus vs Bra match goes I dont see any sort of upset happening there . I wud still be rooting for the Aussies but deep down I somehow don't believe in it too strongly !!!

But yesterdays matches were the best of the tournament so far ... Ghana really played well to stun the Czechs -- they had no clue what was happening to them and they are a far better team on paper !!! After that came the cocky Italians ... they almost lost if the second goal had been allowed but Alas wasnt . And this performance after the US team had been lambasted for their first match performance ... How things can change so suddenly ????

Hope there are more major uppsets in the WC though none shud involve Argentina ...

Cheers

Ghana vs czechs was a cracker of a match! After ghana took the lead even without any Czech player touching the ball, game really opened up especially after the ejection of one czech player. The ball was moving very fast from one arear to other which was a delight to see for neutral but for czechs,it was a long 90 min at the ground.
Ghana should have won that game with bigger margin.

African teams were famous for their power play but after many of their player's exposure with European club, they have combined power play with talent/skills.Now only thing they lack is experience as a team which was evident in costarica vs holland match [which costarica should have won, dutch were cheating by fake diving near opponents goal] and ghana vs czechs.

Now we will see better football as teams r either trying to stay for next round or trying to book their place. So this will lead to more attacking footbal and thus leaving defense vulnerable for attacks by opponents.

and yes....argentina is better some really good football and have many quality strikers.Cant beleive what france's coach is thinking.he has to be the most stupid coach among all coaches.1st he made Anelka,Robert Pires to say out of team and then fielded the team with only one striker in a FOOTABLL WORLD CUP,and paid the price.Robert Pires [Arsenal] could have shared the burden with great Zinedine Zidane in mid-field.

Anyway, lets expect some more fireworks in next matches as reputations r at stake.Watchout Aussies!!!!!!!!

Hey, Aussies -- what do I say to u idiots ??? Almost there but you guys just cudn't put the finishing touches to it but never the less ' WELL PLAYED ' !!! You still have a chnace though defeating Brasil and going thru wud have been perfect . Brazil was kinda funny ..hardly any samba moves at all ..almost had the aussies leading on a couple of occassions . Dunno , but cud have been all the support the Aussies seemed to be getting from team-bhp members across India --- F50, NC , etc in Bombay --- myself in Delhi -- dunno abut others !!!

France vs Korea -- I watched it till hakf time with France leading 1-0 . Heard this morning that it too ended in a draw ... YIPEEEEE !!! Its getting very interesting ... with France too having to wait for the 3rd round to figure out if they do make it to the next round or not ...though personally 'I hope NOT !!!

Lets see what happens today .. dunno wat matches are on though.

Cheers

Aaahhhh - The Aussies had the Samba guys on the run...if only...sigh.

Hey Khaadu - when i called u and went back in Brazil scored the 2nd goal...damn.

Well - this is now increasingly looking to be a contest between - Argentina, England, Brazil, Spain and Germany. Ecaudor and Ghana might provide a few upsets as could POrtugal.

Holland,Czechs,France look too anaemic to go all the way.

I am attaching a link to an excel file. Its a file with schedules fed in ...only you have to update the score and it shows you group positions , how the teams line up for the 2nd round...everything you need to follow the WC easy.

Enable macros when you open it.You also need to set the macro security to medium.

When u click on a team flag, it plays their national anthem, you click on a venue it shows the picture of the stadium. here is the link

http://rapidshare.de/files/23466767/WC2006.xls.html

This is for all the guys who backed out - RTech,Rehaan,2l8.....

Guys the place rocked. The ambience was great , the screen was 2.5 times bigger than that of the one at Karma , we were there during happy hours 1 pe 1 free anything (beer , vodka anything even fresh lime water) and the Belly Dancing was intoxicating. So next time you guys know where to head for the remaining matches.

Psst - Have the belly dancing on video too

yeah, aussies did give some fight but guys did u notice that much talked about Brazillian touch. It was quite evidant in 2nd half and 1st goal was proof of that.

Brazil has always been slow starter and will play aggressive & skillfull footbal in later stages.Lets hope they r not knocked out of tournament before that!!

French players r looking tired and unmotivated. Its shame that neither nation's uniform nor national anthem can motivate u.These guys play their heart out for their respective clubs as they get guge pay packet but dont do much in nation's uniform.Their coach is also responsible for that.

About czhecks, all i can say in one word is that they have been czeckmated.
