As venues go, the seating capacity of this venue (20,000) is almost the same as Madison Square Garden (20,789) and the same as that of the O2 arena in London (20,000).

Re: The Heavy Metal & Rock Thread

Some of my favorites from the Indian Metal scene. I know some of these guys personally, and really admire them for continuing with making this kind of music, despite having almost no support.

Godless:

Hostilian:

Eccentric Pendulum:

Undying Inc

Devoid:

I hope some people enjoy listening to these songs, as much as the guys enjoyed making them!

Cheers

A bit too much of thrash/death for me early in the morning But kudos to them and let them keep the horns raised up high.

Does anyone have the audio cd of 13AD ground zero? I have the mp3s but would love to get a FLAC version

And indus creed trapped as well.

Re: The Heavy Metal & Rock Thread

Meaningful music is long gone today, MTV has become an Indianized masalafied fake-reality show teenybopper channel and the rest are bhangra-bollywood so I don't know if any new bands have been formed but its really doubtful as the massive wave of pop and rap has drowned everyone.

It was a great time in the early 00's to discover great meaningful music from the nu-metal genre. Today its all about flash-flaunt and goth-gore. Nu metal had some really awesome bands early on (except Linkin Park, never was a fan).

Was a big fan of P.O.D, Papa Roach, Korn and Limp Bizkit, three bands that were adept at making great music videos, fantastic lyrics, positive messages and most often pointing out the futility of life as we know it.

P.O.D - Satellite, BOOM, Alive, Youth of the Nation, Goodbye For Now

Papa Roach - Between Angels and Insects, She loves me Not, Born with Nothing, Time & Time Again

Limp Bizkit - Rollin, Home, My Way

Korn - Somebody Someone, Clown, Got the Life, Twisted Transistor

If anyone has heard all these songs then I'd probably guess these are among the best that nu metal had to offer. I kinda liked POD the best among them because most of their songs focused on positive themes, Papa Roach/Jacoby Shaddix is next. With Bizkit either their songs are really good or really bad, same goes for Korn.

Re: The Heavy Metal & Rock Thread

Not really a big fan of Nu-Metal but some songs of the bands you have listed will always be in my playlist:

P.O.D - Satellite, BOOM, Alive, Youth of the Nation

Papa Roach - Last resort, She loves me not

Limp Bizkit - Rollin, Break stuff, Take a look around [Borland's riffs were just too good]

KorRn: Freak on a leash, Another brick in the wall, Word Up, One [Metallica cover]

Slipknot: Duality

Mushroomhead: Sun doesn't rise

Linkin Park: In the end, faint

That's about it i guess.

Amongst the new lot, i found Burning Witches to be a solid band. But their second album was not as good as the first one.

Lucifer is another strong doom oriented metal band which have some good songs.

Finding myself going to the 60s and 70s these days and finding new bands that i have missed.

Coven: Wicked woman [before Sabbath, there was Coven \m/] would be a top pick.

Dio was a part of my journey through metal back in high school-college days. The first time i heard Holy Diver i was just blown away \m/

I actually prefer his solo and rainbow works compared to his sabbath days.

Thre's many great bands you may consider from that era. To name a few, I would recommend few bands like Budgie, Captain Beyond, Warhorse, Atomic Rooster, Leaf Hound, Andromeda, Hard Stuff, Sir Lord Baltimore, Lucifer's Friend, Stray, T2, May Blitz, Bolder Damn, Buffalo, Dust, Bloodrock, Jerusalam, Night Sun, Flower Travellin' Band, Jericho, Bow Wow, Host, Blue Cher, Cactus, Bedlam, Epitaph, Dies Irae, Strider Gun, Writing on the wall, Guru Guru, Zarathustra etc.

That's some of the music bands I've been exploring since the last two decades. Very obscure ones, but awesome.
