Was at Arthur's Theme restaurant at Koregaon Park for lunch on Sunday afternoon. They serve French dishes. Loved the food . Definately recommended

"Siquisto" is a small Italian restaurant on Lane 5, Koregaon Park (near Great Punjab). They serve pretty good Mexican stuff. It's only veg though.

Had an awesome meal last week at the Malaka Spice in their new restaurant. The recommendations were all on the mark and the flavor was outstanding. Was glad to see that they have maintained the same standard as the original.

MY short weekend trip to Pune.

Kayani Bakery on East Street.
I picked up some stuff to eat while driving back to Hyderabad.
I loved the Chocolate cake, Mawa Cake and the Fruit cake.
The shrews berry biscuits were nice.

German Bakery Koregoan Park.
Excellent and actually surprised with the reasonable prices.
I really wanted to come back here and try the omelette's in the morning before starting the drive back to Hyderabad. Will do that the next time.
I especially loved the the Cinnamon roll.

Flavours, Aundh
Dinner Buffet.
The crab soup was quite nice.
The shrimp and chicken were very good.
Excellent service.
But the Penang Pea Mutton was bad. Did not like it at all.
The rest of the food was decent.

(Veg- Non Veg) Eating out - In and around Pune - Pune Highway

Hope it is not a repaeat post.

I am slightly new to pune. And on most of weekend , i find it very dificult to find a good place to hang around with family (I knw many are there - i am unaware of).

Please share your past/present experiences about (Veg- Non Veg)Eating out - In and around Pune - Pune Highway in terms of quality/quantity of food, service, location, ambience, costing, VFM etc.

Yesterday, i been to some restaurent called "Nivant" at CC. Had chiken Maratha(Rs 270 !), Gravy was more of water than anything

Veg Maharaja. - Left it half eaten.

Had word with captain, he said this is how perticular item/dish is prepared and watery gravy is perfectly fine. (May be i ordered wrong stuff )

Everything was just pathetic.

Remark: Avoid at any cost.

There's a community on Orkut called 'Pune Eat Outs' which has good restaurant reviews and suggestions in it. If anyone's a foodie, it's definitely worth a dekko.

Cheers,
Vikram

Guys : try out the sea food at Kalinga (near Persistent, Tech Mahindra, Padale Palace)

Excellent sea food : especially appam with prawns curry. I have had the same combination at numerous other places famous for sea food (Nisarga, Mahesh Lunch Home, Coconut Grove), but Kalinga's taste has been the best.

Do try it out.

Budget Restaurants

With Recession/pay cuts revolving on the head, can you all suggest some budgets eating out places?

What I mean is the place should not be like Chingaari (Le Meridien), Mainland China etc but it should be like Roopali/Vaishali, Durvankur etc.

Been there many times. It is expensive but totally worth it IMO.
Excellent food and good service (even their Mexican stuff is pretty good)

hi lonely!

Try Sigree (DP Road), Herbs & Spice (Koregaon park, slightly cramped but excellent), Northern Frontier (Nagar Road Opp DASS showroom), GAIA (under khondwa road bridge).

Also, flavours in Mariplex Mall is excellent for paranthas and especiall Kabab on platter is finger licking.

Post 91 in Koregaon (same lane as herbs and spice) has really good buffets and has amazing food (apart form drinks combos). it is good for afternoons.

100 biryanis on Katraj road and Koyla (Koregaon park, opposite Naturals Ice Cream) are XXXXcellent for hyderabadi. Youll remember it for days . Try mushroom XXsumthing, (i cant remember now) at Koyla.

Then there is also Eden Court at the chowk close to Sym centre for distance learning., good ambience and food.

Thats all i can remember as of now. (right now in delhi/gurgaon) but thats my experience of about last 3 years of eating out in pune in a nutshell. Im quite sure im missing few really good joints.

HAVE A NICE TIME IN PUNE: THE CITY OF FOODIES

Again "The Great Punjab" in Koregaon park is very good. We found the food to be excellent.
