Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Any fans of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul? Watched the latest season?

Though I will never put BCS up there with BB, I still love the show for Saul Goodman. Without any spoilers, I will say that Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) was a great new villain in the show. He's not one of the usual Salamancas - intent on violence only. He is intelligent, funny and sharp! Wonderful and interesting villain.

Just finished watching the season - great!

For me, after WW though, it has to be Mike - what an awesome character.

Finished watching Fauda on Netflix. A good watch on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Season 3 was the best of the lot!

Also saw Unbelievable on Netflix. A decent watch with an interesting story. Narrative can be a bit slow at times though.

Then saw 2 episodes of Mindhunter on Netflix, didn't continue as i wasn't exactly enjoying it!

Saw the entire season of Lucifer (Netflix). I see Tom Ellis becoming either the next 007 or Batman for sure. I binge watched whenever I had the time and saw the entire 4 seasons in probably a week or 10 days, this was before the Corona lockdown.

Prodigal Son - Takes a few episodes to build up but then it's a roller coaster ride. And the season finale ending was really a good twist. Hope it gets renewed for season 2 as ratings have been quite good.

I cut the cord, and lost AMC. Waiting for BCS season 5 to get on Netflix.

Any fans of Silicon Valley here? It's hilarious. I don't binge watch anything, but this was an exception.

The Last Dance on Netflix

This is a 10 episode basketball documentary on the legendary 3-peat repeat by Chicago Bulls.
It is supposedly named after the playbook for the 6th championship season of the Bulls.
It tells us the story episode wise but unlike other series, it does not all drop at once.
As of today, only 4 episodes have dropped.

Future schedule will be:
4th May - Episodes 5 & 6
11th May - Episodes 7 & 8
18th May - Episodes 9 & 10

Only criticism the series is getting is that it makes it look like Michael Jordan was the only one responsible for the championships as it is told from his perspective. But with all things Michael Jordan, it is going to be a ratings monster for Netflix.

Big fan of Silicon Valley. Exactly the right kind of show for tech minded/interested people who are also fans of shows like the big Bang Theory. I was a little disappointed with the last episode and how it ended though. Left me dissatisfied.

Favourite character? Gilfoyle. His acerbic one liners delivered with a deadpan expression are absolute screamers.

The liftboy on Netflix is quite good and nostalgic. Especially for those who had backlogs in Engineering.

Anyone knows when the season 2 of Panchayat going to be released on Amazon Prime ?

Season 1 only had 8 episodes. Was looking forward to Season 2 eagerly.

Watched Samantar on Mx Player. It's a marathi series(also dubbed in various other languages) of a man obsessed about knowing his future. It's worth a watch.

Thanks.

Is the show family friendly?
Does the season end logically or to be continued?

It's almost family friendly except one or two scenes and some bad words. Season ends on a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the next season.

I personally knew the author of the novel on which Samantar is based. Suhas Shirvalkar always wrote fantastic suspense thriller novels. This series proves his writing finesse.

Yes the show is family friendly except for a few instances. The season ended on a critical junction and we are desperately waiting for part 2.

Watched Breaking Bad and it was great. At the end they showed El Camino, watched it and it was crap.

Now on to El Chapo. Gotten addicted to these drug dramas since Narcos.

It's good fun. Season 5 was approved by the channel but now they and Tom Ellis are apparently having issues regarding the payout. I hope its solved and they do make the next season.

Homeland had a great series finale. Tied it up pretty nicely. For a change HBO show had a good ending unlike Game of Thrones.

And 2 new shows have caught my eye. ZeroZeroZero and Gangs of London. Reddit has highly recommended both so will post review once they are done.
