I have LG 43LH600T smart TV model. Do I still need the Fire stick?

I have a Sony Smart TV, but only use my Fire Stick (primarily) and Chromecast (for casting from my laptop to the TV). They are faster and have loads more features. I now wish I'd saved money & bought a "dumb" TV as I never use the Sony's smart functions at all.

Let's not take the thread off-topic anymore.

Guys, thanks a ton for the recommendation. Already wrapped up a season of "Billions" and am now officially addicted to it. Love Bobby Axe, the business, legal wrangling, all those strategic discussions - just brilliant!

Please do share any good business / strategy shows here. I've lined up "Succession" next.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Resurrection: Ertugrul: A period drama that focuses on the Kayi tribe and Ertugrul, who is supposed to be the father of Osman I(founder of Ottoman Empire). This is a slow burner where a lot of time is spent on building characters, plots and story-line. While there is some action, its nothing great. Things that stand out are the acting and the importance given to the leading female characters. Would recommend watching it only if you like period dramas that are more about the people, culture and traditions. I have watched 18 of the 72 episodes and would rate it a 3.75/5

Westworld Season 3: Dolores is back with a vengeance. The additional star cast of Aaron Paul, John Gallager Jr., Vincent Cassel et al. make it a gripping watch. Jonathan Nolan hasn't lost his touch and manages to keep you hooked. 4 Episodes in and I am loving it. Rating it 4/5

Floor Is Lava (Netflix) - It is a game show and will give you Takeshi's Castle vibes. Nothing great about it and sometimes gets repetitive but good timepass. Don't need to pay attention to screen always.

Watched the full season of "Breathe - Into the darkness " over the past two days (It was released on Amazon Prime on July 10th). Quite a good series and good story and acting the leading characters, including Abhishek Bachchan.
I would rate it 4.5/5

The first season of Breathe starring Madhavan was also quite good and the second season maintains the standard.

Also watched Expanse series on Amazon prime - Seasons 1-4 and really liked that too
Season 1 - 3/5
Season 2 - 4/5
Season 3/4 - 4.5/5
This is one show which got better every season. Season 5 is also expected this year and let's hope they are able to release it inspite of covid as the shooting had been completed and only the digital effects and editing was remaining.

The Sinner - Season 3 (Netflix)

No reviews for this yet? After the earlier seasons, Season 3 has turned out to be a damp squib, atleast in my opinion. Such a drag.

I agree. I binge watched entire season. But, by 3rd episode I figured out the secret of the series, which anyway becomes open by 7th episode. Great acting by Abhishek Bachchan, Nithya and Amit Sadh. Totally worth a watch. Keep children away from this series.

I think first season was slightly better in terms of story build up and was less complicated. Madhvan was fabulous in 1st season.

Even after 6 episodes in the season, I did not have a clue where the story was headed. What really turned me off was desperately slow pace combined with the haphazard story telling. Season 1 & 2 were beautifully choreographed but Season 3 is a big letdown
Rate it 1/5 for Season 03.
Dark is the most frustrating series I have ever experienced, that too after investing the time in Season 1 & Season 2. The Season 3 is just unbearable, I just dont get the courage to play the season after I am stuck in Episode 3 of Season 3.

The Expanse is one of my favorite Sci-fi series, alongwith Battlestar Galactica and Fringe. It keeps getting better every season and the world building is amazing. I'm happy that Amazon picked it, after it got cancelled on it's original network.

Some more Scifi series which I really liked are:
Extant - season 1 &2 starring Halle Barry. This is also 4/5

Salvation - season 1&2 - this is also quite good- 4/5

I had liked Fringe too initially but when they started building in too much romance I got disinterested!

MARCELLA is primarily focussed on the title character. Everyone else is on a "use and throw" basis.

i was not very enthused after reading the plot line of Season 3 when ITV had announced the season. But, Season 3 turns out the strongest of the lot. It is even grittier. I did forward the bits where she has her "DID" bouts, if they don't care about the other characters that much then i don't care about the title character that much!!

All hell breaks loose in the last 10-12 minutes and things are "tied up" on some scale. Revealing anything would make me step into spoiler territory.

Does any one know why The Good Doctor season 3 is not airing on Amazon Prime? I thought they were waiting for the series to get over, but even after it being over they have not released it. :(

Watched 'Stranger Things' on Netflix. Season 1 was ok, Season 3 was watchable. It gets a bit boring in parts. Overall, an average watch.
