Paranormal Activity will really scare you and that sense of dread stays with you long after you leave the cinema hall.
That's an encouraging review for a horror fan like me. I plan to check it out in theatre with a bunch of friends next week.

LA Confidential Starring Kevin Spacey, Russel Crowe, Guy Pearce, and host of other popular stars

This movie is about corrupt LA cops who get mixed up in Hollywood movie and drug business. This movie also picked up a couple of oscars and rightly so.

One of the craziest and unique storyline and as taut and gripping as it comes. Fantastic acting by all especially Guy and Russel

I would say this is collectors item or the least a "Must Watch"

4.5/5

I am still reeling from shock that such an amazing western movie was made during that time. Everything ( Dialogues, cinematography, screenplay) seemed so contemprary.

All i can say is this is one of the best western movies ever made and Paul Newman stole the show as the visionary outlaw with his quiry dialogue delivery ensuring it envokes lots of laughs through the movie. Whereas, RR is the silent type.

Nice action sequences mostly using horses which reminds you a bit of that famous Sholay train robbery scene.

It's must watch

4.5/5
+1 to this.
This is a classic mate. can watch it many times.

Rain drops are falling on my head can watch for this song alone again.

Saw Sherlock Holmes last night, a good treatment, and there is already a build to the sequel, the story is ok, but the movie is fast and taut. And the good ole england does come alive. Definitely worth a watch.

Zombieland starring Woody Harrelson is releasing this month. It's a humorous horror flick with lots of gore!

last weekend saw 2 movies

1. Kungfu Panda : The movie is awesome guys!!! I mean i watched it for the first time and i was like wow!!!! the storyline and the way it was presented was just great!!!

2. Quantom of solace 007 Bond: saw it for the second time it could not somehow pull any bond strings.... lack of bond action, lack of bond gadgets and lack of glamour, though i would have prefered to see Eva Green in this movie instead of Olga .

Some movies that I watched recently and were quite good:
Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
The Duchess
Knocked Up
Young Victoria

On the other hand, could not watch Gamer at all.

Hurt Locker is quite good and is in everyone's top list for multiple Oscars this year, but frankly it is good but not so great. However, considering There will be Blood won so many Oscars, it would not be a surprise.

It's a superb movie. How can you forget not giving credit to Kevin Spacey?

He was at his creepiest best

The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)-upintheairmovie1.jpg

George Clooney excels in this depressing tale of a frequent flier. Clooney's job is to sugar-coat the bad news of layoffs and sacking of employees of various companies. He also has a rookie alongside learning the tricks of the trade from him. The movie does have potential to win a few awards.

My rating: 3/5

I burnt Paranormal Activity on a DVD on Sunday. Reading the reviews, could not bear to watch it and be scared (have a soft heart). However Spielberg's example, feel tempted to throw it out. Why??. For the last 2 days, whenever I have woken up in the night to go to the loo, the thought of this film came to me and got me scared.

Watched 2 movies based on the Vietnam war this weekend but they had pretty opposite viewpoints..

on TV, "We were soldiers" with Mel Gibson was a sort of typical soldiers as brothers tale where a battalion survives an intense fight against N. Vietnamese troops. Lots of action and some melodrama to go with it too.

2.5/5

On sunday saw "Born on the 4th of July" on DVD - Tom Cruise but a very different one as Oliver Stone is the director - story of a US Marine who volunteers to go fight in Vietnam but returns a paralysed and bitter young man. Eventually becomes one of the chief anti-war demonstrators. Shows all the worst aspects of a war and its consequences and how people get pushed to do certain things.

4/5

Only God knows, but if if you liked this, you should see Drag Me To Hell. That was another great movie, but not too scary. I cannot take too many horror and/or gore movies. Somehow the silence (sound effects) before the storm puts me off.
