Thank you. I did consider the gold tone hands as well but somehow preferred the shade of green on mine in comparison to the slightly darker shade of green. But I have to admit, that combination with the green nato that you are thinking of is really sweet!

Nice watch. Seiko divers are among the best sports watches at the entry level category, providing solid movements and stunning lume. I myself owned the Samurai until recently, and sold it off just about a month back. Seiko remains one of my favourite brands, and I continue to rock the Alpinist (green and gold dial) and the SARB033 (one of the best high quality everyday watches on the market in the 500USD price bracket) in my current collection.

No Seiko post is complete without a lume shot and a wrist shot. Please post both if possible.

Off topic: Here is a pic of the lume on my Samurai - it is like a ruddy flashlight in the dark.

Yeah. In case you're looking to get a watch from there, I'd suggest you create an account, add the piece you're after to the wishlist, and keep an eye out for new offers. They were running a 10% discount until last week, which made it harder for me to resist buying .

I was gifted the popular and elusive Casio GA-2100 series by my brother. The watch build quality is top notch and well worth the 2 month wait.

For a budget of approx 30 to 40K, what illuminated watches would be recommended?

Any good brands in that price range apart from Citizem, Tissot & Seiko?

Posts 1 (Which watch do you own?) & 2 (Which watch do you own?) made by Senior BHPian Aroy got me thinking, so don't want to spend much. And not much interested in chronos either, can do w/o them, ditto for day / date, good to have, but not a must.

Seeing lots of guys wearing identical apple watches, it looked cool, but now, its like, almost everyone is having a blank screen on their wrist. Not a fan, but yes, it serves the purpose, just it doesn't have that feel.

INR 30-40k is a pretty healthy budget. Since you expressly want to stay away from the mainstream Jap brands, may I suggest that you look at the world of microbrands? This is a whole new segment of watches which are made in small quantities, usually by watch enthusiasts like ourselves, and which usually cater to the most oft requested features on their watches, at a relatively reasonable price point. Many of them are really very high quality and often surpass the value for money quotient of the mainstream brands like Seiko and Casio. Only problem is, none of these are available in India through direct retail and almost all of them are to be purchased online and imported / carried down to India.

Some of the really great microbrands I can suggest, and which have a massive fan following among the watch enthusiast community, are Zelos, NTH, Borealis, Helson, Boldr, Squale, Spinnaker, Lorier. There are many more, but these are my favourites since they all have fantastic and rugged dive watches, which for the most part have stunning lumed dials/ hands. Look at them and take your pick.

OT: Apple watches/ smart watches are not my thing at all. A smartwatch (except for the G Shocks) do absolutely nothing for me. Kind of comes across as soulless (no offence to smartwatch fans).

It depends on how heavy or light you want your watch to be. If you want a super light quartz watch then consider this Casio model, which I have. It is easy on your pocket and the battery can be changed by a normal watch repair man for less than Rs.100. (My son's Tag battery costs 800).

Its price fluctuates and I had bought it for around 1100.

Looks really awesome. Specially this version with the darkened hour marks. Is the watch face, especially the bezels scratch resistant caused by day to day wear?

Hi @adi.mariner, I can shed some light on that. I've been using the GA2100 'CasiOak' as my daily for the past five months. The glass is set recessed into the watch face and is protected by the bezel, so I haven't had a single scratch on it till date (touchwood ). The outer casing is made from rubber, and it doesn't show any scratches either. The casing loosens up a tiny bit over time though, but I suppose that's normal given the material used.

How do you guys store your prized possessions? I use Invicta 8 slot dive case and it is by far the best and safest case available in the market.

.

The scratches that are shown in the picture are really not visible in person, it is because of the flash that those scratches are highlighted.

Since I wanted to collect at least one watch from each brand, JLC has been removed from the contest as I have already had a master compressor geographic from JLC in my collection. Also, Cartier was reserved for Calibre model that I will buy in the future.

I've got the same watch. Was lucky to find this rare colour way, that too on the Casio website. It was sold out after I made the purchase.

2100s in this stealth colour way are hard to come by and are selling for 2x or 3x on some websites.

Re: Which watch do you own?

I am planning to add a HMT Janta/Pilot watch to my collection. Can anyone suggest a reliable seller ? Preferably refurbished and a bright coloured dial? Also I am new to the whole HMT series. So some suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks

Any reason looking for refurb ones? Worried about quality issues on new ones? Otherwise you can get new ones from hmtwatches.in itself.
