My Netflix subscription was due for renewal on 25th. On 24th midnight I got 4 automated voice calls from ICICI bank ! Irritated I cut all the calls, and the payment went into limbo for a couple of days. On Tuesday, I got the card details updated in Netflix again and the subscription is back on.

Also got a mail from ICICI bank that the standing instruction is now active, and a navigation path on how to manage standing instructions on the bank site. But there is no such section in the bank site .

Autoamted calls at midnight (who died ?!?!) and navigation that doesn't exist ; who does the IT work at ICICI?

Isn't ICICI Bank one of the earliest clients of Infosys?

Misplaced anger. Netflix bills the client at midnight. If the bank detects suspicious activity it will trigger a real-time alert to the customer.

Incidentally my Netflix payment failed as well (on Amex). But the Netflix site has options clearly listed for cards that are acceptable for auto-debit. You just have to delete the existing option and enter a new one.

Not sure about NYT that @Samurai raised and some others. Any inputs welcome!

Fair enough. I still blame ICICI bank for flagging a Netflix transaction of rs 649/- as a suspicious activity. Just decline it and send my a sms.

I am in my late forties and such calls in the midnight can induce heart attacks

I no longer see Amazon GV listed in this portal now. Recently they had increased the monthly limit from 5k to 10k, reduced the reward points from 10x to 5x and now this. Any idea, what could be the reason?

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Users of infinia cards, you can now redeem your points to get 1:1 value (max 70% usage allowed) towards apple products and Tanishq vouchers in the “rewards” section of privileges -> infinia on smart buy website.

This is great value.

However the apple products are priced at MSRP so the value isn’t as high.

P.s. Infinia Metal card is live on HDFC website now too.

Man! That's a bummer. I just bought Amazon vouchers yesterday. Hope it is a temporary thing and these are back next month.

It's back on the site now with a 10k limit. Maybe it was a glitch

I also bought Amazon vouchers today. I usually buy them in second week after my billing date, but as I saw this, I thought it's better to buy them immediately just in case

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Saw this notification on CRED. Anyone know what this means. Clicking on claim now takes you to a page where you do a 2 rs transaction and no mention about what exactly is the RBI guideline.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I was billed ~12k as annual card fees on Diner's black few days back. Even though the value I have been able to derive on this card is significantly higher, I am still curious to know if there is a way to get this reversed?

I saw on the HDFC website that annual spends of Rs 5 lakhs or more would ideally get a waiver. Have already written to customer care for getting a summary of total spend in the last one year. I am guessing my annual spend should be around that ballpark but not fully sure.

It does mention about the RBI guideline when you go forward to step 2/3. Anyway in short, the guideline is regarding Tokenization of Credit Card details which prohibits merchants from storing CC details and instead use a unique token which validates your transactions and this comes into effect from Jan 1st 2022, so CRED is asking its users to setup the token to continue using CC seamlessly on their platform. You may chose not to setup the tokens in which case the merchant will not be able to save your CC details and you will have to enter all the CC details each time you want to make any transaction including paying your CC bills on CRED platform.
