re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

Dear Overdrive,

But why are you deleting post from your FB pages. Is criticism so bitter.?

goodyear payed you handsomely and outsourced you a job, and you people instead of doing a bit of research and hard work, blatantly copied stuff and printed.
Thats so low man!.

Couldn't you just say 'PLEASE'. All you had to do is ask. We are bunch of amateur petrolheads you know.

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

OD has made the dumbest possible move by plagiarizing content from a member not to mention a moderator of the country's largest automotive community, the same community that USED to read your magazine. Result: possible drop of sales/Ads/subscribers, not to mention your so called "credibility".

Ps: My monthly trot to the magazinewala will permanently consist of one less magazine

This is outright shocking. I wonder what integrity Overdrive is talking about, when they are deleting posts on their FB page!

It would have been much better if Overdrive had not sent such a mail to Rush, but apologised and behind the scenes carried dialogues with the author to settle the dispute amicably.

As hollow as it gets. Obviously drafted by OD's lawyers. Very careful not to accept responsibility for any wrong doing or offer an apology. Pitiful.

Tanveer, stand your ground.

Rightly said. Shame on the part by OD.
Is the guy who C&P the stuff not aware about TBhp's large base and fan following and that he would be caught red handed?

I would be interested to know exactly how much OD has invoiced GoodYear for that ad/advertorial. Surely it will be more that a typical ad.

Out here I am sure money is not the matter, of course it does, but not after what OD/GY have done. I am surprised by the reply(replies) given by OD, it sounds so hollow and I feel they want to get away with a serious issue with just an apology or a holiday or some free tyres. They should be made to FEEL as what tanvir FEELS.

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

Well, financially, OD has little to compromise, as most of tbhp members wouldn't need a regular subscription of OD, so even if we boycott the magazine, its negligible loss for them.

But, the regular joe out there will still continue to think OD is the greatest of all, and those Goodyear's did really help Tanveer achieve greater heights.

What need to be done is mass publicizing stunts (not limited to tbhp and internet), well, if Tanveer's attorney approves - of course.

:-)) Silence from your side is welcome, for now at least. Shows that you are perhaps on the right track of action. All the best.

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

If reputable magazines such as OD (demeaned now) can manage to get their hands dirty, i can only imagine how many other small-timers will be publishing articles from similar forums and their authors wouldn't even have a clue, its funny how you were informed about it. You should take this matter up so they know that intellectual property is not something they cannot violate and infringe. All the best and we all stand by you as this can happen to any other indiviual.

Cheers!
