re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

How about publishing this news in news paper. It will definitly hurt the image of OD magazine. For the reference we can give the original post from team-bhp in the news paper.

I did my part in supporting you. Just posted about this on my Facebook profile and also on OD's page. I want you to kick their *** hard. It is really shameful on their part to do such stuff.

I would also agree with Harit. It is better to send an email first and then take legal help. It is nice of Mysticmonkey to offer help

Overdrive always had an attitude problem - like being run by a bunch of school boys. No wonder they are having originality problems too

I had this feeling of OD for a long time and looks like I am not alone. Whatever little respect I had for them is gone. I hope they have the courtesy to acknowledge their mistake (assuming it is in the first place!).

Did you try posting a question on facebook page? They would have to respond as a lot of people will be seeing the discussions!

I saw Nitin Yadav's case posted there sometime back. They have not come back with a reply yet, neither removed the posts!

Those guys are really shameless. They are deleting the comments on their Facebook wall without even replying. Damn it.

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

This is shocking. I too went and read the article and whoa! "our reader Tanveer...". After seeing the article, I first noticed that they have an email id where people can send in their articles; Initially I thought someone must have written in as Tanveer, but, since they are deleting their posts on FB, I know who is the culprit.

OD team, I am a fan of your magazine, but please don't do this. Why not hire a great content writer?

MM.

PS: Other than a copyright violation, they have also used your name without permission which in itself would entitle you to compensation.
Tanveer you have a lawyer here, first step send a notice ! They will run for cover!

Mystic> Thanks for response !

I still feel that Tanveer should contact, not personally but by a communication. I would prefer email.

Cheers harit
Tanveer, Totally agree with Harit - Try to keep all communications written so that in case it reaches the point of taking legal recourse, all documents are available. E-mail communication is now admissible in a court of law!

This is theft! this is daylight robbery!
This is disgusting and extremely unethical on the part of OD.

@tsk, Its high time you start watermarking your photographs!

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

Too bad... I dont remember buying the auto magazines atleast after I came across team-bhp. However, This is why I preferred having my pics on flickr with a pro account.
I guess there was someone else whose pics where used from Team-BHP. since then I have started watermarking my pics.

@Mods, cant we have some kind of security on Team-BHP like that of Flickr where noone can download pics (so EXIF data is preserved). Only way is to take snapshot of screen if someone wants to steal/download them. This will also help pic owners to legally prove their point (with no EXIF data with the magzines/publishers).

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

As a protest against Overdrive's plagiarism, I just now posted my objection on their wall in Facebook. Thumbs down to Overdrive. But, I don't know, for how long my adverse graffiti would decorate Overdrive's FB wall.

The above thought makes me sick, How can you still be a fan and otherwise also their content was complete crap. The worst auto magazine on earth that accepts bags of money from car companies to write their reviews.
