re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

If they keep ignoring you try contacting a competitor for support. They would love to print such a story in their next issue.

Imagine them printing: "Our competitor OD steals and modifies travelogue"

+1 to that, Tanveer please think about this.

Maybe you could ask him how OD goes about this section, This would precisely clarify on who is to blame.

@ TSK: This is really a shocking news. We are there with you on your fight against such unethical behavior.

I was just thinking; there must be OD/Goodyear employees on this forum right? Probably the very ones who "flicked" the article from here will be keeping a close track on the developments in this thread. So I feel TSK should draw first blood quickly (probably in the form of a legal notice). The more this is delayed, greater the advantage for OD.

discussions are going on guys. As soon as an outcome is reached, I will let you know. however, as many members said, usually there is lot of stonewalling and blame shifting in such cases.

Tanveer, as everyone said Good going, go ahead and ensure that OD & GoodYear pay back what you & your TL's are worth of. On the Intellectual Property and Copyright things, I would ask you to contact Ravveendrra (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/members/ravveendrra.html) once. He is into IP & Copyrights stuff and can surely throw in more than 2 cents of his own.

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

Dear Team-BHP Members,

We appreciate you bringing to our notice the issue with the travelogue in the latest issue of our magazine. While our response to you has been delayed, we have been in touch with Tanveer from the instant the matter was escalated to us. We are treating this matter with utmost seriousness and working as hard and as fast as we can to resolve it. The matter has been explained, a solution offered and we have been waiting for Tanveer to respond.

What we want to state very strongly is that we take pride in the effort that goes into generating the stories that we do and take our integrity and credibility very seriously.

Regards,
Team OVERDRIVE

PS: Nitin Yadav: The images used in the Desert Storm story were supplied for print use by the organizers of the event - Northern Motorsport. I suggest you take up the images issue with them - they are our sole source of event images for printing and have accordingly been credited.

@tombum: OD has been repeatedly deleting all such posts on their wall. They have even banned fellow members who posted the link more than once!

See this through tsk! All the best!

Unless you have a competent lawyer, you will have to start munching peanuts very soon, there is no substitute for law as a lawyer.

I dont think rival magazines will support us in this cause. They would maintain a 'dignified' silence in this issue and pretend they had not heard or seen anything

+100. They are a close knit association and as Team-Bhp is pulling out all stops with reviews, they won't stand for Tanveer (He being a mod won't help the cause much)

I like auto mags & read them, interact with editorial staff on & off, but this plagiarism isn't winning any new friends for me any more.

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

This is indeed shocking TSK. Completely unexpected from a reputed magazine like OD. I was in a related field and from what my knowledge goes, writing to them or the other media will not help. You should directly send them a notice with the help of a competent lawyer. It will definitely make them sit up in their seats. All the best and we are with you in this!!!
