re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

It will be very difficult to claim anything from Star News, however, I will definitely try.
AS for coffee table books, nobody buys those!

Re: Another one in the plagarised section??

I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread on something similar but came across this one running already. I usually don't read these mags but saw a tuning story in overdrive about modified turbo swift I went through it. It seemed like i had read some of it somewhere and then I remembered it was like an article in a tuning magazine and they had featured my friend's turbo cedia. I searched out that old issue and i was right- they had copied a lot of stuff straight from that story. Unbelievable- the only story i chose to read in the whole mag and that was plagiarized.

Hope tanveer gets some respite.

I wonder if the test drives are also being picked from here. I mean the wording and stuff. Could be. Seeing these many instances, I seriously doubt OD team's integrety now. Shameful.

Shameful or not, the lady they pay to appear before their test drive videos does focus attention on the drive better than TBHP can ever manage

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

Extreme work pressure and lacking of ability to think and write would result such kind of plagiarism. Media house puts lots of pressure to its employees to get the article (specially new comers).

They are really unaware of situation and repercussions afterwards. This is really kind of serious offence not giving thanks to original writer or producer.

In fact in the internet media most mediahouses encourage this kind of behaviour via nods and winks. It is cheaper, faster and easier to get a story this way.

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

Tanveer - I stumbled upon this thread a month or so ago, and going through the pages today only shows a meek response from someone at ODI. I am happy that at least the matter has their attention. Full marks to you for being the lone ranger against the erring corporation (well, the T-bhpians support is there for sure). All the very best to you.

Unless this could prove to be a source of trouble for you in any form or manner, would you mind sharing what was the solution offered to you? Just curious.

Exactly, I had also previously asked you. There are so many members here who have been with you, I think they deserve to know what the solution was.

Thanks for you support.
A lot of you are asking for updates, but right now I can't really give you any. All I can say is that the process is being followed, but as you know, these things take time.
So as soon as I have a significant update, I will update this thread.

Even better would be to flood post it on all the rival pages. Autocar, car & bike, and everyone else.

Separately, read the letter they sent to GTO. Only one word - "bah!!"

I can't believe the hypocrisy of the letter given the obvious facts around this.

I think he said before that he would update us whenever anything concrete happens. So lets wait. IMHO a counteraction for seeking revenge is not correct and may cause trouble.

The least is that he should be compensated financially.

re: Overdrive Magazine plagiarizes my Travelogue (now resolved!)

All the best, Tanveer. Keep us posted on the progress.

Also, if anyone finds any plagiarised material on the internet (in future), please take print screen (including the system date & time), showing the URL, plagiarised material and whom it was incorrectly credited to (if available). It seems that they drop/change the material immediately it is reported, so this will help keep a record.

Can post the print-screen images on T-BHP for reference and alert the member so that they can take appropriate action. What say?

I believe the Good Year advertorial have been done away from OD, its there in ACI.

A game of blame shifting? My guess is as good as yours.
