Sometime earlier this month, in Pune, an Accent driven by 2-3 people was stopped by traffic police for having fancy number plates.

Sadly for the cop, he was at the receiving end of body blows from these folks. No wonder, people are driving with any font/language they want.

Kannada numbers...I'm sure this is done to avoid being caught by the Karnataka cops since this is an outside state vehicle.

I think the Kannada numbers are used more by other state vehicles than the Karnataka vehicles

Tha funny part about the above number is It is a Kerala vehicle but regional language is not malayalam (Kerala) but Kannada (karnataka). I could not blame him for that because he was a victim of a mugging incident in Bangalore and lost few thousand Rupees + broken windshield+ RV mirror.

Absolutely this is to hoodwink the local cops and get away. Sad but true...

Ha ha !!! In Bangalore you can find lots of GOVT vehicle with Local Language. You cant question them as they are from a GOVT dept but u have to ans or pay fine if you get caught

Better take this police snap and store in Mobile if you are using Local language in your no plate.

And show the next cop if he caught you

I totally understand what your friend has done. In fact even I wsa thinking of doing this. (my vehicle is a TN registration).

With all the Kannada Rask Vedhike people chasing out and burning anything that doesnt belong to Karnataka, you never know oncethey see a KL registration they might attack it.
I keep freequenting Karnataka and even I was thinking of having the font writtin in kannada to avoid being attacked..

Some time back I took a photo of the number plate of a vehicle which was not as per rules of RTO in Mumbai Traffic Police website and also mentioned as to where to find the vehicle.

I saw the car ( SUV) where the number plate was changed as per rules. Though Mumbai police did not inform, I was very pleased to see the change in the number plate of the vehicle. Kudos to Mumbai Traffic Police !

I have been noticing a lot of White on Black number plates these days. Will try clicking a pic or two and posting here.

When would Number Plates and Helmets become mandatory across the country, I wonder.

No Boss, Its not the love for his number plate but it is for "iF ORIGINAL NUMBER PLATE GETS STOLEN HE HAS STAND BY ONE"
