Re: Speed guns in Bangalore

Interceptors are now patrolling Sarjapur road after the railroad crossing. If your going towards Sarjapur or Varthur road beware of interceptors between railway crossing(Decathlon) and the point where the road turns single lane.

Speed limit is a ridiculous 60kmph and they have placed hand painted lousy boards.

Re: Speed guns in Bangalore

Interceptor on Electronics City Elevated toll road at 1pm yesterday (31/Jan). Direction: Towards Bangalore city. Speed limit on the toll road 80 kmph.

I've seen speedguns multiple times in a small stretch between Old Madras Road and Byappanahally railway crossing. On both directions. Inside city speed limits are 50 kmph. People who get out of the railway crossing or the Old Madras road traffic tend to speed in this short stretch. Seen between 10am and 4pm.

Interceptor on bannerghatta road after Fortis hospital. Although i dont know whom they will be able to stop there, given the huge amount of traffic there.

Re: Speed guns in Bangalore

Very surprising. After the Sarjapur road railway crossing, the road is almost like a SH. Why impose speed limit there?

Re: Speed guns in Bangalore

Sarjapur road is an SH. Surprising to know they stand there too!

Latest locations that I have observed of late -

Bellandur - Marathahalli flyover stretch - right opposite the Nokia / JP Morgan offices (on the Marathahalli to Bellandur direction). Since I work at Nokia, I have even observed their timings They seem to come EVERYDAY at 2pm after lunch and stay there till 5pm, until the peak office returning traffic starts.

Opposite NAL qurters on the Tata institute - Mekhri circle stretch.

The wide road from Corporation Circle to Kasturba road (along Cubbon park / Kanteerva stadium)

Windsor Manor - Golf course stretch - at the point where the road takes a slight turn

Re: Speed guns in Bangalore

^^ Did they send image on special request or is it a part of protocol?

BTW I have seen speed interceptors on the BETL road. And I have seen how people avoid getting caught. But I wont discuss it since its really important to stay within speed limits on that flyover with all those insane drivers out there.

On request. He was very friendly and since the cop was hooked on the net (Blackberry), my bro asked to forward the pic to his mail.

How much did it cost him to have his car's pic taken by a cop? Between, where was this?

I use this road daily to commute to office and back. I have never seen them before 10 AM and after 6 PM. Yes, the speed limit is ridiculous at 60 kmph for a 4 lane road that has sparse traffic.

The interceptor usually waits for its prey near that turn towards DPS at Soolikunte. Since the road is more or less straight, you can indirectly spot the presence of the interceptor by looking for people or bikes or cars parked nearby. I usually drive at 80 kmph around that stretch when the road is clear (and there are no mopeds in the right lane).

I use that route occassionally in the mornings, if the Carmelaram route seems clogged. However, thanks for the tip.
