No that massive dip is there in the flyover itself. After hosa road the flyover climbs till singasandra after that there is a huge dip then again a climb to Kudlu gate. It's up down up down not level.

Traffic Jam on top of the flyover? . Happens only in Bangalore. Lets hope it eases and settles down in the next few days. The Toll Amount might be a serious dampener I think.

My Bro will go in his car to work next week and lets see what his feedback is.

The road leading to silk board is jammed as expected. Too many cars arriving way too quickly there.

Guys,

the jam leading to Silk Board was caused due to a canter hitting its top on one of the rods those guys had put for the inauguration (from which they had hung the banners) and to prevent futher damage to cars passing thru, they had got a crane and two guys were trying to cut the rod using welders, thus the hold up on the flyover.

Overall the drive on the flyover was smooth and people who travel from the city to E-city would know what we all had to go thru before the flyover..so the 30 mins holdup was no sweat!

Gentlemen, till that happens, pls hold your horses !
Pure OT:
I never believed my inlaws when they mentioned that a flyover in BLR had a signal on it.
Saw it during my last visit, when I specifically drove to see the same. Dont know how anyone in their right senses would have a signal on a flyover

Today took a ride on it from silk board till exit.

Before entering the ramp from Silkboard, I saw lot of shatterred glass, a badly broken cycle and lots of blood. Some accident has happened right at the entry. No further details was known.

I entered at 6Pm on the flyover, and could already see atleast a km of vehicles piled up on the flyover at the exit towards silk board. Silkboard fly over was jammed too. When I thought about it, i felt the vehicles coming from the flyover and going towards BTM has to cut across the traffic from hosur road to madivala. A kind of "X" after the flyover..

The lanes are narrow, and 80Kmph limits as told. But felt anything above 80 on that narrow lanes was very dangerous.

The dip in the flyover was to accomodate some high tension wires above the same.

Took around 15minutes to exit. Nice small road.

While returning, they did not allow us to climb the flyover from electronic city side. It was due to the already piled up traffic in the other end. Reached back silkboard by Hosur road by 06:45PM.

The entire elevated highway has no emergency exits and no shoulder. If a vehicle has to stop for some reason, it will block an entire lane. What kind of road design is this?

Better believe it. Was also stunned when I moved to BLR and saw these marvels. The old Marathalli flyover had a 4-way crossing right in the middle of the flyover :-( And peak hours saw the traffic constable direct the show!

Just went for a round trip on the expressway with Jaggu. Our observations are:

- Surface quality is brilliant. Very smooth tar surface with absolute no road noise at all. From the old ORR when we got on to the ramp it felt as if I changed to super silent tyres.
- Only one lay bye midway above tafe access Skoda after Kudlu gate.
- Lorries and 2 wheelers will create a huge problem as there is no shoulder at all.
- 2 wheelers accidents on left will be very very deadly. If the 2 wheeler guy hits the barricade and god forbid fall off, the drop is in excess of 4 stories at some points and you fall on the road below in front of traffic.
- Rainy season may be very very slippery as tar is very tightly packed and super smooth. Will be dangerous for 2 wheelers.
- At some places where the NICE crosses and the E-city ramp where there are 2 levels of roads, the height clearance is very low. Lorries with tall loads should avoid at any cost.
- Toll is paid only at E-city side.
- There are toll plazas at E-city phase1, E-city phase2 and Hosur road.

Finally a set of pics from us. We also shot a video which is getting uploaded.

^^Vidyut that's an excellent review and some wonderful photographs!!
So initial review seems to be okay with some apprehensions about the design.
Do you apprehend any pile up when they start charging toll? You mentioned they have 3 toll booth.

The pile up will be there initially from E-city to Silk board. There is one toll plaza on Hosur road just before phase 1 to get onto the expressway and the other toll plaza is inside E-city phase 1. The ramp from Phase 2 is not ready.

When coming towards E-city traffic gets split up into 3 sides i.e. E-city phase 2 Satyam side, Hosur road side towards Attibele and the 3rd is the down ramp on E-city phase 1.

When going to E-city you pay toll on arrival at E-city and while going to Silk board you pay toll before entering the expressway.

This arrangement should avoid pile up at Silk board.

Here's the video I promised.
