Any recommendations for a clay towel? Aghast at the thought of dropping a clay bar and having to throw it away just because I'm clumsy.

Also, if I do go down the bar route, are the generic / unbranded / domestic ones on Amazon any good?

I'm totally in love with its spray head though ! In the pics you attached, it's the spray head that's on your wheel cleaner, that came with my Sonax cockpit spray. It would cost ⅓rd of the price (~₹200) just to buy a good quality spray bottle. So I feel the product is worth its price.

I was indeed impressed by the finish and I agree that the spray head alone would be enough of a reason to buy these bottles.

More than that I found the prices are reasonable considering how less product is used per application and can easily last at least a year even if applied every 2 months.

I have been planning to buy Iron X to decontaminate the alloys as its been 1 year but it's damn expensive.

That's when I started looking for alternatives and found the Xtreme wheel cleaner which is acid-free and with almost 1/3rd the price its a no brainer.

Based upon the videos I saw its equally effective as Iron X.

My next project would be to remove the wheels and clean the wheel wells with APC and clean the alloys with Sonax Wheel cleaner.

Clay towels for one are almost double the price of a clay bar.

You won't be using the clay towel that often so investing double the amount to get the same job done in my opinion is not a good idea.

DetailedClean.in has a few clay bars on sale from ValetPro and Bilt Hamber both of which are international brands so you can take a look at them. I recently ordered something and noticed the clay bars on sale.

I would recommend going with a reputed brand for clay bars to ensure it doesn't cause any damage to the paint.

I don't have any experience with clay towels so can't suggest anything.

Well you can always look at a synthetic clay bar which is washable even after you drop it.

On the bonnet, I had use rubbing compound to take care of scratches, courtesy neighbor's rogue cats

After rubbing [3M 1 Step], used Proklear rinse less wash cleaning with wash mitt followed by TurtleWax Ice Seal and Shine. I guess Ice has some filler properties - as I could see there were still faint scratches left out after rubbing [by hand].

It rained a lot last week. My rim was super dirty, driving around in muddy slush (lot of brake dust had caked too). Tried Meguiar's Hot Rims (Rs 800) and the result is quite good. Just make sure you buy originals from 3M store (I don't trust online sellers for auto products). Noticed one long line/scratch on the aluminum face, and thinking if paint/nail polish is a good option to cover it.

The product is good but kindly flush the trigger spray with water after use or it will damage the sprayer.

Guys is iron decontamination worth it for a silver car ? My car is nearing 5 so was planning a detailing session and wonderedif its worth the Rs 500-700 or use that somewhere else ?

If you're planning a paint correction or polishing, I'd definitely recommend it.

Claying + decontamination makes a big difference in the final outcome of your detailing session.

Just a simple proper wash, polish, sealent coat and maybe top off sealent with some wax i have leftover. Dont have a clay bar though.

If you haven't decontaminated your car since purchase, it's a good idea to do so atleast now.

A clay bar or clay alternative is a good way to start decontamination process and if you're not really keen on using Iron X you may skip it.

Isn't that only done for such things as ceramic coating, where the surface must be as good and clean as possible? Anyway, it doesn't seem much money within the context of a complete detailing exercise.
