Hi all,

There is no second tought about the benefits of Acetone.Be it a new car or older one.Benefits are there. But it varies according to the condition of vehicle & many more thing.

It has been said that this tiny amount added in fuel improves the combustion and nothing else.Getting more efficient combustion is yet a far cry even for new generation car.

Combustion is not efficicient. If fuels burns totally then it produces water vapour and very less pollution but its not the case.Hence catalytic convertor came into picture that to at tail end.Our aim must be to reduce pollution from exhaust valve itself.Acetone helps in the way.

We can think of combustion as a two stage phenomenon.First when spark ignites in deminishing cylinder means when piston is going up & volume shrinking.Secons stage is when piston changes direction & moves down. Here cylinder volume is increasing. Now all flames that started during first stage must get lighted up till piston moves at Bottom when exhaust opens. If it happens so then full amount of fuel is ignited giving maximum energy and high torque with least pollution.

But the senario is so different.During second stage of combustion the flame front gets exhausted and near halfway it deminishes because of heavier fuel particles.Fule particles needs to be in very tiny sizes so that they vapourise easily.Air particles being lighter collides fast with light fuel molecules but those heavier one remains unburned giving loss of power.

Now acetone is one of slow burning liquid. It burns very slowly. When its added in tiny amount in fuels it tends to make combustion live till piston completes the power stroke and exhaust valve opens. Its during this stroke we need explosion to be alive till piston goes down.Acetone added fuels behaves in this manner making combustion ignited till exhaust opens. This is the delay in combustion. It never makes combustion fast as many thinks. This results in more heat energy used efficiently by fuel particles which normally gets carried away when exhaust opens resulting in pollution.

Thus we get full combustion hence increase in power which is nothing but result of total burn.

This is what I understood using this wonderful stuff.

Enjoy...........

1.8ml/lit

to the moderators!--
sorry for the missing letters in the posts,.
hi acetone buffs--

now as am trying with 1.8 ml/lit my consumption has shooted to 15kmpl...
now ill try 1.6ml/lit and give u the update!
the stale petrol actually gives better power with acetone-- may be with less volatile fractions already evaporated, more dense fuel will have higher calorific value !!
any experiences?

Hi TORBOSAM,

Thats very good...you mean to say you got 150 Km per 10 ltr of normal fuel from your earlier 130 km.....I m sure you will soon hit the nail.....you can continue testing in the same manner...I expect something around 1.2 to 1.4 passing you maximum benefit......once again thanks for sharing such wonderful result.....

This clearly shows how little variation in combination makes such difference....hence its advisable that every one finds their own combination......

I even tried as low as just 0.8 ml and found difference....

Enjoy...

I recently stated adding acetone. Earlier without acetone i used to get and average of around 15kmpl (highway+city). After adding acetone i have noticed the following changes,
1. The vehicle runs really smoother.
2. A slight increase in power specially on 3 rd gear.
3 .And the most important of all i have stared getting a FE of 18(highway+city).
I must say acetone does help and now i would like to go in for the boric acid treatment and will keep everyone updated on the findings.
