Obviously Amaron!

But why no other options? Where are you located? Also, there is no real need to buy a Maruti badged battery and pay more for it.

I would prefer the Amaron.

Even I enquired the rates for my Accent CRDi the exide one recommended quoted me around 6350 and for other diesel cars is quite less around 3k. Why is such a huge difference. As earlier asked as well can Indica's battery be used?

i think you should go with amaron.i feel quality wise amaron is better.plus the extra 2/3 years would not make any difference as the battery is exchanged at pro rata basis on MRP.
you will end up paying the same amount as of a new battery if go by pro rata basis.

Out of my personal experience here in the hills I have noticed that Amaron lasts longer than Exide. I have had the same on all my vehicles and have not faced any problems as such.
My Amby was running on new Amaron a year longer than on Exide.

I'm also in the similar boat. My DIN44MF for the Uno Petrol is conked out. This is the Palio battery also. My present battery is Exide. Exide replacement is costing about 5360 and 5100 with exchange. Was told the equivalent battery in Amaron is 76xx. Exide is with 2+3 yrs warranty. Why so much of price difference?

Of course Aaron is more expensive than Exide, yet I think its VFM.
I need to change the battery on my CJ340 to and again I am going Amaron

But my problem is that car concerned runs very intermittently. So given the scenario, I want something which doesn't have a very high discharge rate and doesn't cost a bomb.

BTW my Bolero and M800 runs on Amaron

Finally decided to go with SF Sonic asits also coming with 30months + 30 months warranty compared to 18+24 on Amaron. With exchange its costing me about 3900 ( scope for till more negotiation) compared to 4700 odd for the Exide and 7300 odd for the Amaron (w/o exchange)

@MileCrucher, feedback for SF Sonic has not been too good : try the parent brand Exide instead. Or Amaron / Bosch.

I understand what you are saying. As a matter of fact I myself would go for Amaron if it was for my primary vehicle. But since the vehicle concerned is a tertiary vehicle that is already 9.5 years old, plonking so much of money (the differential) kind of seemed a bit of a wasted expense. And since the concerned vehicle may be used for another 2-3 yrs, the battery will remain under warranty.

On a lighter note, if there isn't anyone who buys SF, how will everyone over here know about their quality
