For the vote: EXIDE gets thumbs up from me
I am also very much satisfied with Exide and my vote will also definitely go in favour of it. It was my last last OEM battery, which lasted for over five years.
Somehow I have a feeling that for any petrol car which usually runs daily, for at least 20 KM a day, the battery lasts little longer. But it is my personal opinion and I welcome to be corrected.

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

Does the battery on a diesel tend to die earlier as I feel the diesel engine exerts more load on the battery on every start?

Coming to my battery experience, the Amaron on our Baleno lasted close to 5 years and 40000 kms which include a lot of start stop city errand running. Commendable. The first sign when the battery showed weakness was after 4.5 years when I had been running the FM radio for a long time on a trip without running the engine. This has been replaced with a Bosch silver now running for a year plus, having a warranty of 1.5 years. Too early to comment on the Bosch.

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

Finally I have decided to go for a Standard Furukawa for my Alto. Will get it fitted tomorrow. Currently i have a 2007 make SF Sonic - so it lasted 4 years. I think its fair considering the price.
Exide Matrix in my 118NE is a sealed unit with a 5 year warranty but the price i feel is too steep - I had paid 4,500/- in January 2010.

I would recommend you go for the Amaron. You can chose between Amaron Flo, Amaron Go and Amaron Pro. The differences being the price and warranty offered. Call a local Amaron dealer to get a quote for a new battery after deducting the the buy-back value for your current battery.

I was an Exide nut.But soon during the last few years was hearing and reading about Amaron's invincibility to power our machines.
My journey with Amaron commenced in 2008.It was August 2008 and the battery of my 1955 Landmaster was getting weak. The old car would stall and if the starting mechanism was not in perfect order, I would have had it. With more than three selfs, the old battery would perish for a while. I decided its time to change over to Amaron. The car may be too old but its powerhouse should be young.Or else, the old lady may stall anywhere-uphill, downhill, traffic, jam, crowd and so on causing nightmares. Now Amaron powers the car since more than three years.
I then became specific and told the dealer I would prefer a factory fitted Amaron in my new Scorpio in 2009. I got it!
Next , it was time to change the faltering Exide that did its job for about 3 years on my Activa. The kick starter is a show peice and impractical for these scooters. Again got an Amaron.
Thereafter, on my list was the Yamaha RX 100 whose horn was getting some soreness and crow like emanations. Again I replaced the Exide (2 years old ) with an Amaron.
The latest one to conk off was the powerhouse of my Maruti 800 an Exide Express that did its job for nearly FIVE years. It was gone just about two weeks back and with a bang came an Amaron.
With this brand the motor vehicle is seldom to be watched for power.

Ya, Amaron is the trusted brand.
I was expecting my car's old Amaron battery life for at least five years but went dead only in 41 months.
Its not Amaron fault, its MASS fault.
Before deepawali, i got my car serviced at local MASS, they ignored to check battery fluid level.
Found that battery was almost empty when it became dead.

Can't rely on MASS as far as battery maintenance is concerned.

Any time any where I got full and final faith in BOSCH.
My BOSCH battery in my Maruti Omini lasted for 53 months, In fact I sold my Omini with same battery. It used to start with single self in the morning and after few kms used to get charged fully to slog for the entireday's work.

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

I have 2 questions.

One is how much should a dealer charge for charging your battery.

My Second Question is if the Battery fails then which is the Best Battery for a 6 Cylinder Petrol Engine Car.

Please answer my questions as quickly as possible. Thank You.

Car Battery charging normally costs around Rs. 50/-

For the 2nd question, why don't you check the manual for type of battery make recommended by the manufacturer?

Which Amaron model is this? Is it OEM?

While they should certainly have checked, and I'm no trying to defend them, the reason they may not have checked is that most batts are like zero maintenance these days. For the battery doing service in my car, Amaron says it does not need topping up for some 100,000 km or something, IIRC.

But of course this may not be the case with all batteries, so they should certainly have checked.

It was Amaron black, it was not OEM.

I checked my bill for that service and MASS has charged rs 15 for battery fluid bottle.
I already raised complaint at MASS and they had taken this matter seriously.
Waiting for the action taken by them.
