Xtreme Power and Vision Plus

I upgraded to Crystal Vision for my Indica Turbo DLX after a lot of running around but no trace of Vision Plus. However I got a "late" call from Philips office replying to my query for Vision Plus.

This gentleman "Mr Sunil" confirmed that Vision Plus is available but somehow didnot pick sales in the markets though being cheap and very good (Rs 250/ per pair). Some problem with awareness or market positioning (Marketing guys will understand this). He gave me number of a distributor in Karnal who could make them available in Gurgaon. So anybody wanting the number pls PM me.

Further he told that Xtreme Power 65/50 will be launched in Jan mid. 80% more lumen he claimed. January is about to end haven't checked up with him again.

hi,

i have H4 100/90 on my alto. I did the relay and necessary wirings. Of late one of my bulbs high beam filament broke and the bulb had to be replaced. Asked maruti dealer to replace it. He said he had no stock of 100/90, further it was against rules. and on top of that, the Maruti mechanic said not to put 60/55 bulbs, said something like "if relay is installed, then using 60/55w will fuse the wiring.." . I was not too sure, how two 60/55 w can do this? or did he mean fitting 1 60/55 W on one side and 1 100/90w on the other?

what would happen suppose I get 2 60/55 W stock bulbs and fit them, when I have already got relay and thicker wiring installed? Please bear with my naive question and help me with an answer.

60/55 will not fuse the wiring which is designed for 100/90. Which dealer did you go to buy the bulbs? I get my 100/90 bulbs from Surakshaa(where I service regularly) and SmartCars (which is in my nextdoor) and they always have the 100/90 in stock

Not sure if it's worth waiting for. Have been following up on the X-treme Plus from October. A Philips sales manager initially said it would hit shelves in Nov which then dragged to second week of Dec and now Jan is almost over and absolutely no signs of the bulb. Obviously, I stopped waiting a long time back.

Really don't understand Philips's strategy, awesome bulbs and a market eagerly anticipating them but no feelers from their end.

Please help me understand the benefits of the white light vision. Also, I would want to know what's the effect on the oncoming vehicles.

Could someone please let me know where to buy Vision plus in Mumbai ( if and when available). The stock bulbs in Swift are a pain.

Hi

I have a relay set which was fixed to my Santro earlier. Now I have a Swift Vxi. Can I use the same relay for Swift? I find that the stock lights are not at all good. Which bulbs should I change to for brighter light? Please give me suggestions and let me know if the relay can be reused, thanks

Hi,

Recently bought the philips vision plus for Rs.450 a pair. Actually got guidance from madbullram to trace down the shop-Thanks mad You guys wont believe that I scanned most of the shops on GP road (chennai), but could find the lamps only in one shop!!! The other shops think that I speak Greek and latin when I ask for Philips Vision Plus. They ask "Sir, is it blue light or white light?" ! How 'm I to know? and I scanned a few other prominent shops for crystal vision. One guy even went to the extreme saying that Philips Blue Vision is nothing but Vision Plus!?!? Price quoted for blue vision Rs 950 (generous Rs. 50 discount!)

Moral: No team-bhp, no automotive knowledge for the general public

Will post the pics once I get the lamps installed on my Accent. By and by, does anybody owning an Accent know how to install the lamp? I don't want to mess with it giving it to the local mechanic guys for the fear of 'bulb abuse'

Have fun!

vision plus

i have been trying real hard to find a pair of vision plus- asked a couple of shops in my city who get their stuff from delhi & initially everyone said that they will manage to source it but one guy landed up getting crystalvision & the other one managed diamond vision which obviously i refused to take. a friend visiting delhi also gave it a try but was told by the philips dealer in karol bagh that vision plus is not available in india.

can some fellow bhpian guide me as to the specific shop where these are available

Finally! installed the vision plus bulbs in my Accent. I was a bit let down when I saw twas still yellow light :( of course I didnt expect a pure white light out of it, but still yellowish. Well, color apart the bulbs are quite powerful when compared to the stock Philips bulbs that came with my car. I wouldn't call it 50% more light, but very much in the range of 25-30% with a wider beam spread which is likable on unlit roads. Others pls let me know if you feel the same.

Smith - Better you go in for Halonix +60's in 100/90 with a relay change. Much better than Philips and cheaper too.
