tsk, thanks for the reply.

I think I'll try out one set of halonix 100/90. Are these normal bulbs or have a blue coating on them. Also, let me know a reliable place to get them in S. Delhi or Faridabad.

For foglamps, which bulbs are preferred and what's the wattage and colour. I am looking for utility and not show-off stuff.

Thanks,

No coating, just normal bulbs with very bright light.
The only bulbs which i have seen beating them are the Philips 130/110W

Fog lamp - upgrade choices

Tanveer bhai,

Need your opinion on the best possible option to upgrade my fag lamp bulb in the Indica.

With the rains pourin into Bbay now, the fog lamp effectiveness will become ultra important.

They are stock as of now and maybe just for this season of rains & utter muck & chaos - I will want to resort to high powered alternatives that have more throw & more intensity as well.

Looking forward.

SRS, as far as the indica stock locations go, there is not much you can do. The reason is the small reflector size. A better option would be to upgrade the main lamps with something like Osram +50% or go for 100/90W bulbs.

Tanveer, Thanx for instant response. Am already on 100/90W GE bulbs for the main lamps and they are effective indeed.

One factor that adds to weakening their strength, during rains & rough drives in sand, has been a lot of mud/dirt etc that tends to stick to the main lamp clear glass reducing bulb effectiveness by a good 25-30%.

Also as a practise i usually only drive with the fogs & the parking lights - in adequately well-illuminated highways.

On the fog lamp subject, the stock bulb is probably 40W. I was hoping to add a GE / Osram's 60W or so to add to the immediate effect.

Thanx anyways and will keep you posted if i strike some immediate solution there as well.

Hey,
Im currently running VisionPlus H4 bulbs in my Sx4. Im pretty happy with them so far, but the normal halogen light colour from my fog lights doesnt really gel with them. AFAIK, the foglights are H7s (if someone could please confirm?) and I wanted to know if there will be any benefit if I change them to H11 55w?

its having a solid range of 30~40m.

Anantnehru, Where in NCR did you get the Vision Plus H4's . How much better are they compared to the stock Bulbs on the SX4. I would like to upgrade the bulbs in my SX4 to Vision Plus H4 but would like to know if there is any difference

Hello

People,

I have a carb Zen 97 model. Driving in rain with stock lamps is a big pain . So inquired about fixing fog to Zen with Maruthi A.S.S.

He suggested that fogs in Zen are not recommended because if left ON by mistake would cause wiring to burn. Many such cases have been reported, according to them Is it true?

Also, they suggested that changing stock 55/60 bulb to 90/100W would not cause bring/melting problem in Zen as that headlight casing has some brass coating which isn't present in current cars (made of plastic fiber). But said that only relay replacement without any wiring change would suffice

Please enlighten me on above facts
(with more than 50/65W brightness )

Thank You

Hi,
I am getting philips extreme power (60/55W) for Rs.950/ pair. Is this the correct market price or is the retailer asking too much?In which case what should i be paying max?
I could'nt find Philips Vision Plus anywhere, which used to cost around Rs.500.
Also, if anyone has used Extreme Power, what is the life span? Somebody (i think tsk) mentioned that these have a very short life span.
